For a main AMC armament, I'd go with 1 ion and 1 explosive; ion should be 50-60%, explosive should be the maximum effect % allowed by the game. Not sure what that is, but for cannon-ion it's about 60% ion. For beams ... Idk...

      Eh, you'd want a jumpdrive and massive acceleration, jumpdrive to get that 8 sector (or more or less) boost in long runs but acceleration to keep you moving through loop-de-loops and curvy bits (like the clouds of gunfire off of pirate stations).
