      But why punish people for going the long ranged route? People will abandon it altogether if they will deal more damage closer. Especially at range, its already hard enough to land a hit, why bother trying if it will be at reduced damage. We already have accuracy to encourage close range fights...

      But we both know it will happen, Why try fighting from afar, when you're not gonna deal all the damage you can, when you could get closer and deal it all. The current system is fine for now.

      Alright you scienced me, But in a game thats based around large ship-ship combat, Damage dropoff is not a very good gameplay addition. I mean do you really want 2 titans within collision distance? Because thats what WILL happen, no doubt.

      Seeing how its space and there isnt anything to cause resistance on our shots, It wouldn't make very much sense.

      I just don't see the point in hampering something that would already be a serious disadvantage, Immobilizing a ship during production wouldn't be a balancing factor, rather a pretty severe punishment, considering a mobile shipyard will have to power many more things than a station based one...

      That does sound like a server thing, in which case you should get ahole of the server owner and ask them about modifying it to included a more serious suicide penalty.

      Its good to know that its a planned feature, Hopefully it comes around to being implemented soon. This would entirely defeat the purpose of a mobile shipyard, Which is mobility. If I wanted to be stuck in one spot while building ships, I'd build a station and get the invulnerability bonus.

      But its not mobile anymore and becomes like a station. The whole purpose of this is to be able to create PROPER mobile bases. Also a good solution to get around that, Any ship with a shipyard cannot dock to stations or other ships.

      I suppose one way to do it, Ships built in mobile shipyards use more resources to build, While still allowing for a proper nomadic playstyle, ultimately building a station and sticking around in one place would be a lot better.

      To Truly balance this weapon out, The ROF should never get any faster, But slower, So a small Railgun would fire more often than a Cap ship size setup, Which means it could take a really long time to fire off that 1hk Railgun.
