so, is the problem with turtling that you cannot attack them or that they are not leaving there base?
i do not get what the problem is :) if player iTurtle is fine with camping his base 24/7 why is that a problem?
Why is it assumed, that forcing said player to do something he doesn't want to do...
As i see it there are no rules, so enough is when you are satisfied.
the only concern should be if you are going to explode the server fucking it up for everyone else
I am sure there are some good ideas here and there in this thread, but remember a part of the community just plays to build.
If you swing the stick to hard and often or force them to do NPC hamster wheel stuff they will leave.
The power in starmade should be freedom, not some arbitrate need to...
why put fences in the sandbox?
let people sit in there HB or build what ever size ships they want, but do not limit or punish players base on what ever it is you/me/him/her think is the right way to play.

Im planing to take some time off starmade but would like to protect my blocks as best as possible.
I know stations decay over time as you faction points run dry, but what if i stuffed everything in a nice cargo craft and just headed of in to the darkness of space.

I have only been able to find old post regarding shield sharing between mother ships and docked entities like turrets.
i'm interested in knowing if shield are shared between mother ship and turret base and barrel segments or it is still each there own?
I hope shields are shared because...
SM has times on it's side and as such can do it all, limiting your self from the start by only choosing a little is a defeatist attitude :)
