Questions about computer facing and fire direction

Yes, it would be nice if "the directionality of weps computers determins direction of output" was stated IN THE DESCRIPTION of the block (duh!) I, a noob, learned this the hard-way not long ago after being puzzled that test firing a tiny cannon-array caused the Shop to become very belligerent...

      Antenna Configuration

Many thanks to you, sir! Cuz that's NOT what the in-game block description states or implies (obviously.) Although scattering them all about makes them difficult to find after you've buried them behind huge masses of other stuff.... Cheers, m8 ~EE Edit: May I ask which WIKI you used? Cuz...

      Antenna Configuration

Okay - it's well established that I'm a MAJER NOOB regarding lots of things concerning this game. Well, here's another: 1. How exactly should the antenna blocks be lined-up for optimal function? The description In-Game only confuses me more. So, say I have a ship that is 300m in the...

Larger blocks of beam modules = Bigger, brighter beam

Yup. (Also, is it me, or do Beams in general essentially look white, despite whatever color is assigned to them, with just a bit of colory bits added on? Unlike Cannon-fire and Missiles which are solidly of designated color...)

Few Handy Suggestions! ~Quite interesting concepts inside!~

No oxygen for me, thanks; I consider myself an alien (sorry, Dave) and have no use for that.

      Shields and turrets

I personally hate the look of turrets and so far refuse to include them in my ship designs. I'm trying to devise a way for the ship itself to have point-defense-systems (GLWT, I know....) I'll very likely have to wait until AI capabilities have more options and, well, capabilities.

Give Beams and Cannons an innate "Blast-radius"

Yes, adding effects to the primary weapon will give the effect... I think you know that already. ;) What I'm suggesting is that Beams/Cannon pulses have a (minor) blast radius already incorporated into their damage output. (Thus adding "Explosive Effect" would merely increase that output a...

Give Beams and Cannons an innate "Blast-radius"

As I suggested in a couple of other threads, I'll just go ahead and do so independently: Give Beams and Cannons an innate (though lesser) Blast-radius. This would make Missiles (still Photon-Torpedoes in my mind....) less Über and be more in keeping with the effects that we see in TV and...

What comes to mind when you think Pierce?

My opinion is that these 2 different effects need to just be the same -- ie. eliminate one of them, AND (as I stealthily suggested in another thread) give Beams and Cannons an innate "blast-radius." I think we're all confused as to what exactly the distinction really is between Pierce and...

StarMade v0.18999 - Some serious optimizations and balance changes

Defanatlee a MAJER NOOB -- no doubting that ! Rofl  My ships are awful purdy tho !!

StarMade v0.18999 - Some serious optimizations and balance changes

Not to be argumentative, but there can be more than 10 Hot-Keyable hotbar slots. "-" and "=" could be used as well as Shift+, Ctrl+, and Alt+ (bringing the possible number to at least 48). Plenty of popular games out there that do this already. Not that I want that many.... And I guess I...

      Recognized Qualitative vs quantitative balance.

I would also add (to the OP'er) that Beams and Cannons need an innate "blast radius." This would render missiles less advantageous and be more in keeping with the effects the we see and love "in the movies" (which is where all our Sci-Fi inspiration comes from.)

StarMade v0.18999 - Some serious optimizations and balance changes

I'm still puzzled by the fact that the Damage-Pulse weapon exists at all. I only ever hear of it used as an adjunct to the other, more effective primary weapon -- which essentially renders the Pulse a mis-labeled "effect." ☼☼ ——> I am tremendously pleased that defense has been improved...

StarMade v0.18999 - Some serious optimizations and balance changes

Hmmm..... I'm currently making a ship that has a significant amount of radial symmetry. The YZ plane is working, but the XZ plane is skewed. The problem just started so I can't help but think the update is involved.... I can, of course, not use the XZ helper, but I thought yall should be...

Created the United Alliance Craft Reliant in only a couple of days :)

The outline is nice, but you (and a lot of people) think like Khan -- in 2 dimensions. I would suggest adding vertical volume; overly flat designs make me think of airplanes, not space-ships.

      Recognized Relocatable Ship-Core

I'm aware that we are currently unable to move the Core Module. What I'm asking/suggesting is that the all-powerful Schine Team devise a way so that we can in the future. (edit: I added the "c" to Schine. Crazy of me to forget it 'cuz I'm a ¾-German American....)

      Logging-In to Forums/CommunityContent

When you (that is, I) arrive at either the Forum or the Community Content area, there's a BIG box that says "Log In." Well, it never works for me for some reason. I click on it and get nothing. The way I did find to log myself in was to go to the Community Content as a "guest" and click on...

      Recognized Relocatable Ship-Core

I'll admit freely that I'm a total noob to StarMade and the forums and the possibility that my suggestion/observation has been proposed and dealt with already, but.... It would be good to be able to relocate the Ship-Core Module after initial and permanent placement. I generally have an...
