Hopefully with the planet update they will become less performance hogging.
Then suggestions such as this would be fantastic :3 It would be great to give them some functionality.
Maybe unique systems can be constructed on planets which provide passive bonuses in the sector/nearby sectors...

I think a large part of the performance impact comes from the number of faces that need to be rendered, thus turning blocks texture off etc will still show the faces behind it,
Im curious to see how the chambers play out. Personally, I would have tied cloaking to the design and construction of the ship but who knows what they've got figured out. I do also hope that alpha strike doesn't become the only way :/
Intersting. If anything an update actualy encourages me to get back into starmade.
Personally the only reason I would play mp anymore would be to chat with other players, most servers seem to die or fall back to a couple of players eventually, there simply isn't much beyond building at this...

Ah thats brilliant! Having a stealth carrier with heavily armed drones stuck on :3 As long as the drones are of sufficient size to keep the weapon charged I don't see why this wouldn't work.
My only gripe is getting the drones to actually target the right ship imo. I can't wait for an "Unleash...
Definitely sounds interesting.
Weapon systems will have a 'maintenance' cost to keep them active, so the drones will need to beable to provide enough power to beable to fire them/keep the weapon loaded.
That then begs the question, is there any innate advantage to having the missiles launched...

Just going to add that Spaced armour can be effective vs missiles. What you can do is create a shield of forcefield blocks (some distance from your ship) on a turret center mass, delete the stick and it will always rotate to face the current target shooting...
Was 2 years ago, but was caused while I was deconstructing one of my miners using build mode. I think a result of adding and subtracting blocks somehow resulted in a math error that when I had removed everything but the core the ship had about -20 to -40 mass or so
With That I was able to add on...

I fully support anything with more acceleration/ top speed :3
My most memorable moment in starmade was when I made my ship go into negative mass (on a mp server) and accelerate up to 5260 m/s :3
Traveling at that speed was glorious, and weirdly enough there was no lag/clipping...
This was pretty much what I thought they would be like imo.
The current stabilizers: Increases reactor efficiency (i.e in this system stabilizers are likely required in most decent sized builds and become a standed part of building rather than strategic depth)
Propsed: Minnor efficiency...

Some good ideas here. I would be all behind plasma arcs etc on heavily damaged or overloading ships.
Having navigation disruption/lightning arcs in sectors would be awesome as well :3
Think like gas arcs on stars: (except on ships)
I would love the option of being able to do this in reverse => Taunting an enemy ship and forcing it to follow you :D
Nothing like watching a 2 million mass battleship spazzing out and crashing the server as it attempts to do a loop de loop ^_^
