Schema has never stopped working on the game itself, the website was a necessity that was left to an external team and has finally reached fruition on its own. The best thing you can do is put in bug reports via the launcher and describe your problem on the support pages.

I second that, haven't tried a starmade server from Multiplay yet, but their pricing is usually good with some excellent discounts occasionally. Customer service, reliability and administrative control panels are all great too.
Starmade's box-dimensional powersystem is well known and there are many tutorials on it.
