To be fair, many of these mods are already covered by the new weapons system, as the secondary weapon type will modify the first in a certain quantity. Adding some of these modifications would also cause many weapon types to simply bleed over into other types, leaving some weapons underused and...
Systems to counteract core drilling are in the works, its a known annoyance and it will be fixed at some point.
Multiple control seats are cool nonetheless, whether they be to combat drilling or not.
Also, please comment on existing topics in the future rather than starting a new one, there...
The forums are still partially a work in progress, so these suggestions are welcome.
The idea of more pics around the site is being considered, and a form of image gallery might be coming in the near future in one shape or another. ;)
Making a ship appear block by block is somewhat resource intensive, one way or another. But auto-fabricating ships block by block in a special area may or may not be planned. ;)
Exactly the reason that smaller ships should have larger angles, it would have much less of an impact on the overall balance and aiming at a small quick target would be easier for them.
It would be nice to have additional 'seats' for co-pilots/crewmembers that can be assigned access to certain ship systems. The captain should always have access to all of it, but they can help during a tense engagement.
Untill such a thing is possible however, you can already start creating...
Yeah, implementing an option to turn it off/back on would be a nice first step.
Core drilling will soon be countered by some other super-secret mechanics however.
I know it's advantagious, but that's just clever design, not an exploit. The regen thing is a balance issue that could easily be adjusted if need be.
Also, yes a severe limiting would work too, like I say above ;)
Btw, as a sort of compromise a severe limiting of the arc would work too, say 5 deg.
The result would more or less be the same, while maintaining some leeway for the fighter pilots.
The problem isn't that the cockpit lines up with your guns, or the amount of weapons, its the fact that you can make a 200x200 wall of AMC's fire at a single block in front of you rather than laying down a proper wall of projectiles to catch them in.
As for big ships maneuvering, they do that...
Let's say, and bear with me now, we remove cursor aiming outright!?
So no more magical projectiles that speed away from your weapon array's barrel at a 45deg. angle, capital ships that fire pretty much sideways or plain silly instant core-drilling. Weapons should fire straight ahead, especially...
