      Fun with Dev 201.043

Yeah, they eventually stop but it depends on how hard you hit them. So the art would be hit them hard enough but not too hard.

      Biotechnology

This is true; I tested my new 600 beam waffle miner on a few planets this week and it works pretty smoothly. As a general notion I think that orbital mining is a little absurd and, if removed or substantially re-imagined, wouldn't be much missed.

      Since I Can't Keelhaul People I Don't Like...

Yeah, but first we need the ability to grapple toons and 'throw' them! I want that too... :ROFLMAO:

      Save Blueprint dropdown carry value

It might be a nice bit of streamlining if, in the Blueprint window, when we go to save the entity we are in the dropdown selector that lets us categorize the entity as MINER, SCOUT, DEFENSE, STATION, etc would retain the last value used so that when you are working on a ship and want to save a...

      Since I Can't Keelhaul People I Don't Like...

Like almost every space show. Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, The Expanse, Aliens, man the list could probably go on for quite a while. I think that this is one of those things that might eventually come around if they ever do life support for crews and make airlocks a real thing, but it'd...

Space Quiddich sounds pretty close to what I was doing. Or Space Billiards.

      Fun with Dev 201.043

So, this probably won't last long, but if you want to have some hilarious fun in Dev build 201.043: -Admin warp to an asteroid field. -Build a tiny, fighter reactor with lots and lots of engines. -Add a big (5K modules base) Cannon-missile particle disruptor weapon to your tiny ship - power is...

Anchor CTRL-Z to Undo, CTRL-C Copy, CTRL-V Paste

Greatly appreciated - thank you! I know CTRL-V may initially seem like a more complex matter, but it may actually not be. It only needs to call the actual paste function itself using whatever the currently selected template of copy selection already is, just like clicking the [paste] button...

      QOL Improvements to Recoil:

I agree that the flying back was ridiculous (they seem to have changed it in the most recent build tho) - I was hating that. In terms of reasons though, I think that even an energy weapon would still exert recoil in zero G. We use ion engines to propel ships in space and this is basically just...

[Dev Build] Weapons 2.0 impressions from testing the basic 3

Another update today. Looks like they're trying some of the stuff being tossed around on the forums in terms of the Doom Laser, Cannons, and even Missile Regen. Observations: Missile Regen is now on a 30-second flat timer... I definitely like the feel of taking longer to regen missiles since...

MrGrey1 I'm glad you agree - I felt like a UI improvement like this would be particularly appreciated by extremely prolific builders like yourself. Hadn't even thought about CTRL-X, but yes, please to that one as well!

[Dev Build] Weapons 2.0 impressions from testing the basic 3

They need a much longer reload. I am just liking where the damage is at. Before I felt like missiles were overwhelming armor too much, but now you can totally "feel" the armor when you're pounding a target but it doesn't totally stop you either.

[Dev Build] Weapons 2.0 impressions from testing the basic 3

During testing today I also felt like they may have made changes to missiles. I really like the way they are starting to feel; they put decent holes in AA, but they definitely treat systems a bit differently so that if you can land a successive missile shot through an existing hole in the armor...

      AI vs Weapons 3.0

I've noticed a constant stream of minor improvements as well. It's nice, but yeah - no way anything can be assumed to stay where it is right now.

      AI vs Weapons 3.0

Beam-cannon isn't any better from what I've seen. I've been testing with both. Wait - beam primary is actually working for PD now? I tried it a couple weeks ago and got no love (though now I think of it, beams might have been broken at the time). And 50% effectiveness as well - that's exciting.

Anchor CTRL-Z to Undo, CTRL-C Copy, CTRL-V Paste

I'd go for that too. I'm just tired of mousing over to undo a hundred times every hour as I detail something to juggle systems inside a hull, and also feel like Copy & Paste are powerful functions that should be more accessible.

Yeah, all of our current keyboard functions can be re-configured I didn't assume these would be unique in that sense. The standard seemed like a good default, but I'd be open to any keyboard shortcuts for these functions.

      AI vs Weapons 3.0

Couple of questions about how Bobby AI seems to be handling the new weapons: Has anyone been able to actually achieve effective Point Defense yet under 2.0? (I have not - it tracks and fires but missile destruction rates even with two PDTs on each plane, is so low as to be in the range of...

      Traffic Jams and Collisions

Very good idea! I'm not too keen on this particular approach - it has side effects. There is already a collision prevention mechanic that kicks in when you rush towards an enemy ship at speed and it's a real pain. I used to be able to dive-bomb targets with torpedos on a Missile-pulse bombs...
