      That works, somewhat, but it causes issues in that it doesn't actually spread out its effects. Just because the number of times it effects a block per second was upped doesn't mean its speed was upped.

      Ideal ratios break the art and science of shipbuilding. The five systems balance changes between ship size and role, finding a ratio to make all sizes of ships relevant is basically impossible.

      Possibly, I was suggesting a linear formula with distance vs view, an exponential decay would work though.

      That's awefully specific, but I'd lean towards vision. IMO the scanner should be stronger than the jammer and cloaker, because combat/interaction should be promoted.
