Well out side of some sarcasm everyone who replied to your OP said something helpful. If by 'mature' you mean using grown-up words...that would be you. So, I will try to be more specific with my guidance.
-A good habit: the very first thing I do after spawning a core (for any purpose) is orient...
I have found Push and Pull drives extremely useful in combat. They can make a ship in the 50K block range quite agile in acceleration and maneuvering. (Braking and Kiting too)
Hinge-blocks with the 'C' block acting as the anchor and the other (V-block) as a swing-able (and controllable) armature.
Also, Madman nailed how to deal with battle-damage to avoid collision mayhem.
-Armed with auto cannon, Sniper-missiles, torpedoes and targeting lasers.
-Modest shields but full speed 225 m/sec.
-A single quad canon PD turret (anti-missile).
-Side-oriented core so that there is no 'right' side up.
Recalled to carrier:
Have not read all 77 pages yet. I hope this is relevant.
My pick-up points are far enough from the ship that collisions are rare. Recall works best if ordered into idle formation first. (Would be a useful new fleet-order)
Actual fleet formation:
While docked the drones make contact with...
I love to build but that can be kind of an insular activity. What makes a MP server experience stand out is good RP. Sandbox has game play that is emergent...it springs forth naturally from what the player brings to the game IE imagination and creativity. If the 'meaning' is not provided by a...
The view angle would call for 45 degree rotation to match the 'apparent' orientation of the build. The symmetry mode would have to be 90 degrees to help with the mirror-image work. Thanks for the feedback HolyCookie.
I have experimented with a design that uses a 45 degree rotation of the default (flat-on top) orientation of a ship. The view is skewed on a 45 degree angle when grappled or in the core so it would be nice to enable the pilot to rotate their view 45 degrees in either direction. This sounds...
Lukwan's fleet_Submission_1
Carrier with two drones. Long-range planetary survey ship.
-Drones launch from toolbar, button in cockpit or dead-man's switch.
-Proof of concept for 90 degree symmetry mode. (aka 45 degree axis-rotation)
Interior is spacious to accommodate winged (or...
Accordion blocks!
No extra core. Just a block that grows along one axis until it meets another block. Or limit it to 1X2 or 1X3
(chainable?)
Animation of texture along the growth-axis would help sell the gag. simple
Ditto for me.
Crafting in factories can get tedious for needless reasons. The look-up list is long and has just two ways to use it: search and a huge scroll that won't even remember where I left it (adding to my scrolling). It should be obvious that if I just crafted some standard tetras I...
Thanks SW1981.
Without realizing it I bypasses the wireless logic altogether...and I'm fine with that. Wireless is still wonky. The radical thing this idea is asking for is that a Control Computer on the main ship be allowed to control a Bobby AI (or core) on any of it's mounted entities...
In response to the many ideas about better turret control...how about this.
TTC would act like a weapon control computer in that it could be fired by NPCs or by the pilot from the toolbar. Use C-V to link one or more turrets to the TCC. Interacting with the TCC' menu would let you change the AI...
