My output is not prolific but but I do a like to make 'specialty' builds. Check me out on the dock.

I have seen trade-stations disappear on my old MP server. Sometimes they were replaced by a floating slab of armour blocks. Recently on my single player game I lost my personal station. Its a total mystery to me so just started a new universe.
In addition to these sorting ideas: I would like a tool that copies a 'snapshot' of a particular storage box's sorting system and then allows me to store and recall different snapshots of Sorting. Since the earliest days of inventory games we have been organizing our 'chests' visually...we do...
Could not agree more with that last line LG. I would find building tedious if I predetermined my stats before starting to build. I just 'wing it' and use intuition and analysis to modify my build.
I am 1300 hours in SM and my turrets are the most popular thing on my Community Content page. This...
Standard permission blocks must be placed adjacent to the block they are governing. C-V linking is not required.
I am not sure if this goes for Faction-permission blocks as well.
I don't see any specific advantage to this idea. Besides a general 'more depth' in thrusters...what does add to to the game? The disadvantages are huge so, on the face of it; no...just no (thanks). Circling the wagons around your idea does it no favors. If you are trying to win a debate you need...
I actually maintained a design philosophy on a MP server that If I made attractive ships people would not want to destroy them. Coupled with a build-friendly atmosphere I found this philosophy partially useful. Happy thoughts wont stop certain player from attacking anything they see (and some...
O.K. if we are gonna talk about Gamma-Ray weapons we will need a mechanic to determine the likelihood of 'Hulkification' for any NPC scientists who get exposed. "Hulk smash puny blocks!"
I like the idea of small, local networks for voice-com. On a server with many players the chatter can be obnoxious. Small build-teams and faction-navies in combat would both benefit from a private com-channel. The chat options are helpful for keeping the text-chat under control.
Make each logic-pipe junction selectable (visible or not) then offer various cool textures (as Nightrune suggested) to make them really pop visually. People who don't wan't to see them are happy and people who want to decorate are able to without using extra blocks. I sometime use the...
My two cents worth...
I have little patience for impatience. If getting SM released sooner means it becomes a bad clone of a poorly thought-out game we have all played before then I'll wait. I urge Bench and the team at Schine to have faith in their vision and in the gamer community. I am...
I like any ideas that reduce collisions and lag. Good Post.
Here is a radical approach to docked entities that take critical damage:
EG-When a turret rail-docker takes critical damage it does not detach from the mother-ship (causing collision checks). Instead is causes a total failure of...
That would have saved me soooooo much trouble on this build.

I turned the core on a 45 degree angle just to get those turrets on the shoulders to sit at 45 degrees. No symmetry mode to help so...lots of duplication in the build.
Yes I got that JW. I was not articulate but my issue is with the current system not with your post. This subject has already been discussed elsewhere and your scheme is as workable as any other I have seen. I am just happy that discussion is ongoing.
One logical effect of the EM wars might be prolonged time to get missile-lock for 'blinded/jammed' ships. A ship that is generating a lot of EM-noise or that is very large should be easy to get a lock on.
My main issue is that jamming is inherently a non-stealth activity. How can you be...
Well I did post this to help people figure out rail stuff so please don't fault me for shilling this.
This rail demo does exactly what you want and then some. Spawn it and play around a bit...then make one your self on the empty rail to test your knowledge.
