Add a "Ready" state to reactor chambers

My previous post specifically addressed this by binding level to chamber size. So I may need 1000 blocks for a lvl1 chamber, 2000 for a lvl2, and 3000 for lvl 3. (or if you want non-linear scaling could be something like 500:1500:3000 or 2000:2500:3000) In this case. you would invest the extra...

      Power 2.1 doesn't suck.

This actually opens up a huge can of worms in the long/tall meta discussion that probably deserves it's own thread, but in short: (tall vs long) meta has a lot to do with your optimal engagement range. Under non-exploitative circumstances, Tall ships are optimal for short range ships where...

Who plays with "draw logic pipes" on?

This is really good to know considering the swell in new player population vs veterans. IE: if you rely on those lines as a stylistic element, then you are actually handicapping yourself from the perspective of who's most likely to download it. Might be good if you are using them as a...

Who plays with "draw logic pipes" on?

Well, the number of applications have fallen off due to power 2.0 trying to kill practical logic, but uses include(d): -Chaindrives: used for perma-jumping -Logic inhibitors: staged jump inhibitors create a continuous inhibitor signal which effectively doubles it's effectiveness. -Staged turret...

      An average day in Starmade

So being well aware of all the bugs... I figured it would be safe to make bases and rails/logic stuff since those mostly unchanged, and since warheads are basically the most reliable weapon system in the game right now, I decided the best use of my time would be to make a jousting arena where...

      Your coolest logic creation?

Most of my more advanced stuff is more pragmatic in nature and does not translate well to a picture, but I will do my best... This is a home base storage solution designed to defeat all four exploits that I know of that can be used for stealing people's stuff. Each one of those 11 door...

Individual chambers/effects toggleable by hotbar and logic.

Chambers don't have computers which make it kind of weird compared to what we are used to, but no reason it should be undoable. Technically, you could make it connect to a single block, and the signal would just have to detect which chamber that block is a part of much the way opening a door works.

      Power 2.1 doesn't suck.

"Beat this topic to death"... yes, that is why I did not feel it necessary to elaborate in my original post beyond simply punctuating my feelings on the matter... but since you felt like I was being offensive, I figured you thought it was a topic worthy of discussion. That said: If you read my...

Individual chambers/effects toggleable by hotbar and logic.

This can still be implemented with the same cool down as multiple reactors or manually re-allocating them, but this would be a huge QoL improvement for things like jumping near an enemy base and swapping from jump chambers to combat chambers before moving in without a bunch of ugly menu...

      Power 2.1 doesn't suck.

Well, it was not my intention to be hostile. Put otherwise: I believe that if this were a closed alpha with paid play testers, then open disclosure of such issues is best, but as an open alpha in a competitive game with a volunteer player base, those kinds of bugs should be reported in...

      Power 2.1 doesn't suck.

Well, I find releasing sensitive information that forces server admins to wipe servers causing thousands of collective honest manhours of work to be destroyed or otherwise spend dozens of hours digging through log files trying to selectively find perpetrators to be as you say "offensive", which...

      Power 2.1 doesn't suck.

Vaygr is the only faction I know of that was for a fact using the shipyard exploit for anything other than very minor shit like spawning in a starter ship or funding a home based. There were some other pretty egregious material exploits like the Judas exploit that were actually much more...

Perma cloaking impossible now? (2.5% over the chamber limit?)

Not entirely true, if you were really smart about your use of lightweight materials, spaghetti reactors, and chain drive, you could make a perma-cloaker, perma-jammer, chain-drive recon ship that looked nice, but there was a specific size threshold at about 300 mass you had to hit to get the...

      Power 2.1 doesn't suck.

You're argument about cost has to do with a series of material exploits that have nearly all been fixed, and any that are left are bannable offenses on most servers. So, claiming that they make ship cost irrelevant is like saying, "How much a car costs doesn't matter cus I can always just rob a...

      'Door Dock' block

Current nav filter more-or-less has this. If you set turrets on and docked off, you will only see docked weapons and not docked other things like armor/doors/etc. That said it does not differentiate docked ships from inert docked objects, so maybe adding a filter for docked things without...

Add a "Ready" state to reactor chambers

I actually quite like this idea in concept; however, it may amplify the big problem that already exists which is that most chambers are not worth the cost. As it stands, there are a lot of really minor effects bound to chambers that add a ton of mass to a ship to incorporate, if they were also...
