Thank you! That is basically one of my traps fetching infromation what would under normal circumstances have caused a physics freak out and caused a more ugly crash.
This was set up as a suspected source of the bug, and this log pretty much confirmed it.

the lag/fps drop bug has finally been fixed. I also managed to increase the general performance of the physics engine in cube-cube collisions.
I'm still releasing this as a pre-build to check for eventual bugs from the new system. I'll do a full release of this exact version if...

Can you maybe send me blueprints of the 2 ships that are causing this. In their distance to each other, the should not cause that much lag. The problem at the moment is, that the bounding boxes of the segments (even if empty) have to be iterated.
More then 38000 comparisons had to be made...
