If you have wide set fixed weapons firing in the same group, and you fire them 'focused' they already converge onto the surface of whatever the targeting reticle is on.       I think this is a great idea, especially the bits about building torpedoes and having them exist as ammo AND actual cargo... custom torpedo manufacturing, etc. I feel as though, in many instances, big scary space torpedoes are usually held in reserve until "the enemies shields are down!!!"...

      Primary parts in the barrel and secondary / tertiary parts in the base would at least be a move in the right direction. I suppose than the block properties could be adjusted via .cfg file to support certain builds if the user so desires (to reduce barrel / turret overall size). Shields work...

      Well, i can view a huge asteroid no problem, or any other part of a shop, but as soon as the habitable area comes into view (where the npc lives) -30fps. Fps return as soon as i look somewhere else so i don't think its a 'max segments drawn' issue, at least not if that equates to view distance...
