Right and they are powerful in that regard but just like taking the jump drive and turning it into a secondary effect for weapons, charged lazers, teleporting missiles there is also a purpose behind focusing your jump inhibitor yes weapons with jump inhibitor secondary or tertiary effects gain...
the whole point of this thread was to DE-INCENTIVIZE that means stop, decrease the frequency of, remove rewards for, mining planets.
I agree taht parseen and sapsun are too common and i actually think a nice balance could be achieve if that would even out the parseen sapsun and rammet sertise...
although jump inhibitors effect everyone what if you only wanted to prevent one ship from running away it would be pretty nifty if you could have a beam cannon jump inhibitor with a fighter so you could get in close and really interdict just that one ship that you can't let get away.

the shops don't really work right right now and don't correctly display the buy and sell values but i'm assuming that when they get another pass you will be able to set up player shops that people can't sell too specifically outpost shops or non homebase shops near the starting area of a server...
but you aren't ever at that point if your ship has 1 million blocks of non rp open space in it then you just drop another 100k shield capacitors 100k shield rechargers 200k worth of power recharge 100k worth of power capacity and 500k worth of thrusters then you have the same ship you already...
I think the biggest issue is more about location and advertisement the trading guild does a terrible job of restocking their shops with any kind of relevant stock i think if there was an easier way to direct people to your fully stocked shop it would help with business.

I have absolutely no problem with teleporters I just don't want people who are not my friends to be able to teleport onto my ship i think teleporters would be incredibly convenient especially when you start to get above the 500m build range even for use on the same ship/entity i just don't...

I'm done i'll quit arguing you think you want this but you don't.... when / if it gets implemented and the trade guild comes and drops off the 37 shield rechargers that you wanted in your shop and charges you 37 million credits cause they also brought in 2700 cannon computers 1800 power drain...
would you really want that though? you would essentially be buying blocks you don't wan't / need you really want the trade guild to come buy and drain 1 mil credits for dropping off 1000 power supply computers?

this is completely different from what was actually happening and to be honest i don't really like this much either but at least this would make sense.
here is the thing the npc faction magically spawning things out of thin air because they don't do any mining or crafting is fine i guess...
this makes no sense whatsoever the npcs' were literally dropping off millions and millions of credits worth of blocks at player stores for free this completely breaks both the economy and immersion as people wouldn't just randomly give you stuff for no reason especially not a "merchant guild"...
who puts real computers in rp space if you teleported onto my smallest actual ship which is 35x35x103 you would have to torch your way through 1 hull block and about 12 system blocks in any direction to get to a "real computer" if people could sabotage computers on ships via teleporting all that...
Edymnion was the op and the one who stated that he put cannons on his missile turrets to shoot with during missile downtime i guess I had just figured he had changed the direction of conversation / realized that it wasn't his point defense but rather the cannons on his missile turrets that were...
this would be all well and good if they weren't talking about missile turrets that also had cannons on them so that all their energy regen isn't wasted during the 45 second recharge time for the missiles.
the simplest solution is to turn off the config setting that allows you to hit your own...
I thought maybe i could squeeze by with just my initial comment but obviously that isn't the case here.
Lets assume for a second that we are not talking about the whole of 3-d space but rather a linear vector between you and your target because haha we are..... when you launch a missile...
My guess is that any balance changes to the way mass based modules work is going to have to wait till after the cargo update / carried items contain mass happens because that is going to completely throw balance out of whack but it won't really be known how much until that system is in place...
