Drones are also an anti-drone system.
When we get a release version with rails and logic undocking reimplemented, drone R&D will reach a whole new level.
As for drones, I don't need a large array of blueprints. The same proven drone with different weapon systems is usually all you need, and I...
Yeah, I don't recommend STV for further council terms. Keep it simple and let tactical voters screw themselves by not voting for their vote if they really want to. Everyone else can vote for one person to be in there as usual.
Nice - the only disadvantage is the pixel size though. I can barely make the 1-block-per-pixel display "usable" (readable) from within a ship already. Of course you could just build a bigger ship ;)
The door plates can actually have depth! If it fits, there can be complex decorations without needing more than 1m to store one plate.

Plazmatic yes indeed - it was kind of planned for messages with text and graphics though, so I figured it was secondary. Faster than 0.5s doesn't work well though, in MP the display just barely catches up with the server already :)
Playing with rails -
These doors can extend infinitely. Even bridges over insane distances are possible, all while keeping the surface completely flat!
While asking questions is never wrong, if you really make a ship that large -- just wait for the docking/rails update for the finer parts, and do decoration/hull/systems/etc in the meantime. Once you see what the new update can do (you can already look up some things people did in devmode) you...
Spend ridiculous amounts of time on that perfect multi-stage animation for just about everything. Turrets, docks, weapons, stuff, doors, more stuff. There will be more R&D than actual shipbuilding.
therimmer96 the problems is not people with starting credits or credits gotten from selling to shops, the problem is the huge credit-based voting rewards (which don't benefit newbies even remotely as much) in conjunction with a restocking shop. It may be better to make voting items-only and...
+1. Because power generation can also be subject to peaks or break-downs due to lagspkies and sometimes you just take hull damage where your "power veins" lie, I find it to be a good rule of thumb to generate lat least 10% excess power (or 25-50% if still under the softcap). If using docked...
1. The council's job is not to promote the game. Their job is to bridge communication between the existing community and the devs. They can't do both simultaneously.
2. You can actually inform yourself just as fast about new things in the game by reading the news. If you need 10 minute videos...
The only thing most (including TS) starmade youtubers contribute to the game is mass-producing low-quality videos in order to appeal to the lowest common preteen denominator and boost their channel view counts in order to ultimately pave the way for youtube partnership.
They don't do this for...
Safety switches and paranoia sequence shutdown enforcers are awesome - you still have to handle racks with care, though. Docked stuff colliding with something can sometimes just be blown off the dock (is that a mechanic?).
For instance, if I ram a rack with a ship at very high speeds (note that...
Well we have wormholes for location based natural networks and warpgates for artificial ones. FTL should be usable anywhere, but come at higher risk. A "super cruise" mode would actually be more fun.
