You guys are putting too much stock in EvE. From what I've heard, it is nothing but a spreadsheet simulator.
That being said, I like this suggestion. I really like any FTL suggestion that lets you get out of your ship and walk around while traveling - this is necessary for RP.

Ooh, I actually have a really good idea for this one. It would be sort of an overdrive effect, accelerating you to a speed that depends on the amount of jump drive and pulse modules you have.
A jump inhibitor would instantly stop you.
Max speed would be server set, but I'm thinking the default...
Here's the thing, though. You can't compare 21st century technology to Star Made's technology. You can do that, yes, but think about it:
A sniper in our game can shatter a 1x1x1 meter block of solid rock. That's comparable to a small cannon in today's world. Nobody alive can carry 10 elephant...

1. Limit it so only one weapon of each type is allowed per inventory. Having 10 snipers on you and gunning down anything in your way is OP, but totally allowed at the moment.
