      Chairs n' Viewscreens... And stuff?

Yeah, I'd go with that. Sounds much more balanced and realistic. If it's a strafing run then I suppose there's a chance you might only get an injury, or even survive unscathed. However, your chances decrease considerably if the enemy is concentrating a lot of fire on your Bridge ;)

      Poll for FTL travel

Post #29. You said: Post #43. Now you are saying: I have been saying all along that you can make a ship into a Faction Base while you have been saying you cannot. Now that you have changed your mind, what does FTL have to do with it?

Weapon "mod blocks" for weapon arrays

Good point. I forgot about the mines...

      Poll for FTL travel

I agree 100% with everything you've said about the benefits of jump gates. Especially the part about affecting population densities. Very good point. However, I still see a need for ship-based FTL even if it's for no other reason than having a practical way of building the gate network in the...

      Poll for FTL travel

True, but the tediously long wait involved in moving location at sub-light speeds might be too much for the idea to appeal. At least with a Death Star, you can blow stuff up along the way to keep you entertained ;)

      Poll for FTL travel

Yes, but while it is parked-up it is still just as invincible as the Home Base it's docked to. I cannot see how the properties of a large Faction Home Base (big, covered in Turrets, invincible) are not exactly the same as the properties of a large Spaceship (big, covered in Turrets) which is...

A Mod that changes beam colors.

Yes! This is a great idea. While I would be most happy with the simplicity of choosing the colour from a list within the Weapons Computer, being able to slot the Computer feels much more intuitive. You could even slot a computer with more than one Plexlight at a time to combine colours and get...

      Coloured Weapons Fire

Ah, didn't realise this was already confirmed. I guess that makes the poll somewhat redundant, unless everyone voted "No" of course  Thanks for the link :)

      Poll for FTL travel

A Base containing a Faction Module set to Home Base is invincible. A Ship docked with a Base containing a Faction Module set to Home Base is also invincible. At least, that's what it says in the Wiki: "Ships fitted with a Faction module cannot be destroyed in their Faction's home base, as long...

      Poll for FTL travel

You have turrets on your super-large ship which will still work while docked. Can you use logic to explain how is this is less effective than having turrets on your super-large stationary Home Base?

      Chairs n' Viewscreens... And stuff?

Good point. Artificial limits are not good for creativity or immersion (unless they seem logical). However, my main issue was not so much with the option of having multiple Chairs/Cores linked to the Main Core, more the idea that if the Chair you are sat in is destroyed then you are...

      Coloured Weapons Fire

Would you like to be able to customse the colour of your weapons fire? I know there's been some discussion in other threads about how such an option might be implemented (determined by Faction affiliation, adding a colour changer option to the Weapons Computer, attaching a coloured Plexlight to...

      Advice on enclosing cockpits..

I've found if you place your Core or Cockpit block right next to a Plexglass block, then the textures on the block "disappear" from your viewpoint. Maybe instead of making a canopy of Plexglass, you could try filling the entire cockpit with it so it touches the Core (or whatever block you took...

      Chairs n' Viewscreens... And stuff?

I like the idea of being able to add an additional Core to your ship and use it as another point to access the main Core. It's probably the simplest way to implement the idea of Command Chairs. You could potentially also use this idea in conjunction with the up-coming "Dry-dock" feature to allow...

      Poll for FTL travel

      1) Carry a Faction Module with you on your super-large FTL ship and place it on a Planet/Station when you get to your destination, 2) Build a dock (with a ton of docking enhancers), 3) Dock with it and switch the Planet/Station to be your new Home Base. 4) Enjoy the benefits of having a...

      Poll for FTL travel

What's stopping a player from putting a Faction module on an extremely large carrier-ship and having enough Power and FTL drives to do the same thing? With the Beacon system, you have to build beacons at both your origin and destination points which makes it more time and resource consuming and...

A possible solution to the very mild "chair problem".

I also think Chairs and Beds should have their own model. If you want to customise them, then you can always place a coupla wedges around them to make them look more like a sofa or Captain's chair etc.

Weapon "mod blocks" for weapon arrays

Colour mod: Yesyesyesyes! I think this is a great idea. For me, it's not just cosmetic, it's a quick visual identifier for Friend or Foe. There's a good reason George Lucas made the Imperial and Rebel Lasers different colours... Spread mod: Already covered in the up-coming weapon system...

      Chairs n' Viewscreens... And stuff?

I am 100% in favour of the idea of chairs. At the moment, there is little reason to construct a convincing interior for your ship. Just the simple addition of a block you can sit on which attaches you to a ship and immobilises you (except for being able to look around still) immediately allows...

      Poll for FTL travel

As I understand it, this thread is different because it is specifically about *which* type of FTL system we prefer and why, not how to implement either system. In my opinion, you have to have both ship-initiated *and* beacon systems. This is simply because they both serve different purposes...
