I prefer and argued for, the method lancake mentioned, when they announced theyd be changing them, where placing them a certain way would have done something. Obviously thats way more difficult to build, but id still prefer it.

well, as to the original topic: I dont want more stuff tied to a menu. I hated that they did it to thrusters really bad, so i dont want to shields have the same thing happen to them. It wouldnt be bad if they where tied to the new system, but i do not think this is the way to do it.

Is it really that high? ive seen some peoples "fighters" and they are the size of my corvetters(some hundred meters in length or more). and those can pack quite a punch. Really thats all a fighter should be when it comes to that scale this isnt the real world, where fighters are 9 times smaller...

I mean..its came a bloody long way from where it was. Yes its still just build, but the game itself has gone *far* in improving. Plus, with the small team it has, i dont expect the game to be finished quickly. its like what? 3-4 people? Yea..

Small ships are viable against larger ships though, in numbers, as they should be. That is also how it should be. The shields in this game remind me alot of W40k in that they can stop all damage so long as they are up, but they drop quickly and take awhile to restore afterwards. Smaller ships...

Funny, the game is exactly what i thought it would be, unfinished, unpolished, and with some barely working aspects. Exactly what an alpha game is. Which coincidentally, is what stage the game is in. I dont know what you where expecting, but i am curious?

Why though, shields go down pretty quick as is.

thats not the only system that does that. Ive noticed the same thing happens with thrusters, and quite a few passive effects. The power drain randomly spikes and falls back to normal .

I mean you arent wrong, however that is pretty impractical in starmade, at that size scale i mean. The x wing is only 13 meters long, maximum, good luck making a ship thats that big have the same amount of firepower an x wing has in the star wars universe xD Though, to me a capital ship is...

That just sounds god awful as a game play mechanic, no way in hell would i want to play in a game that would be so troll friendly as that would be. You want to compete and leave home bases fine, but the people like myself, who like to play by themselves, even in an online environment need to...

An utter troll. The thing is massive, and decently armored(at least more so than the predecessor its based off of), and incredibly light as well. Its gonna go fast(maybe shoulda painted it red...) Truthfully and no joke, its gonna be a much bigger version of ASM's reaver, not meant for...

That also is a good idea, though...id have to be overly careful when doing that. Update on the hull as it stands Gonna end up with two separate versions anyways, so ill keep your idea in mind for sure when i get around the ruined version :D

Ive pretty much settled on fully functional, i realized i can have the outer skin look heavily damage without affecting the performance... minus its armor which, considering i want this as a ship that hastily refitted by pirates, isnt a problem. Will end up with two versions of this ship, one...

Why, he gave a decent review with decent feedback on a ship that i happen to love quite a bit, and hes the *only* person whos even given any idea of its weaknesses/performance.
