@Glutton
The actual, physical universe is working properly and shows up on the galaxy map just fine. What I'm talking about is the background stars that are supposed to be representative of real stars but aren't doing so on any multiplayer server that I've seen.
It seems that you can gain faction points, but they are not being used by claimed star systems. Here I have 1 star system claimed (which it doesn't list as being claimed, even though it is), and it requires no faction points per turn. Also, there are no faction points being awarded for "Offline...
This nerfs salvage effectiveness far more than to 1/6 its original value
I have (had) a salvager with a modest 200-cannon array which could mine a planet side in about 40 minutes. It now requires 12.5 million e/sec just to run those salvage cannons, which is pretty much impossible on a small...
Completely agree on this
How are we supposed to use a factory system that relies on salvaging so much when salvaging is basically impossible with this change?
Salvage cannons aren't even an offensive weapon. I don't see why they should require much power at all, let alone 500 per block.
You've...
We've had some problems on our server with some of the effects/features of the Universe Update not working properly, even though single player works just fine.
Specifically, the new drawn stars in the background are not appearing as they should, and instead the old system of random stars is in...
Not true in every case. A ship with longer dimensions in the front-rear direction has a lot more blocks between it and the core, especially compared with a cube or sphere (which minimize this number).
What? it's easier to dock rectangular turrets on a longer ship... Turrets also don't even need...

Just keep building more and more ships. The more ships you build, the better you get and when you're 10 more ships down the line you'll look back and think "how did I ever make something so horrible..."
Also don't be afraid to test your ship designs in battle. It's no good if it's never going...
There's several thousand possible combinations and I'd say that about 50 or so are effective enough to be considered very useful. However every weapon combo seems to have well balanced pros and cons. For example, missile+damage pulse+overdrive is REALLY effective a massacring shields, but it...
Hahaha seriously?
An object's moment of inertia is based on its interaction with the Higgs field. It has nothing to do with "fluid dynamics"
Inertial damping can be turned off in the config options, but I suppose you didn't know that either.
Also do please explain how giving a rod ship a...
How about this:
A new hitpoint system is going to be implemented eventually, so why not have hull be the one and only thing that adds hitpoints to a ship?
In order to "overheat" a ship you would need to cause as much damage to it as all the hp of every hull block on that ship put together (or...
How is realism not a valid reason exactly? People intuitively expect things to react like how they do in the real world and when someone's stick ship is out-turning a ship 10 times shorter than it then it makes no sense at all.
If you have 10km long ships spinning around just as fast as a 50m...
Incorrect.
Show me some pictures of these "compact" doom cubes that you say are ruining the game for you.
In the mean time, here's what the majority of doom "cubes" look like:
You're upset because people who put little effort into how their ship looks are kicking your ass. These ships...
