I did a bit of image editing to what it might be like to come across a base hidden in Deep Nebula and Dark Nebula of an aquatic Liquid Nebula. Deep Nebula Dark Nebula Station is the Trident Deep-space Outpost, by Jamster0000 http://starmadedock.net/content/trident-deep-space-outpost.2294/

That is brilliant. I've been trying to think of something that would work like that. However, that wouldn't necessarily work for irregular shapes and ships that have areas covered by armour (if we're talking about system blocks being damaged only, e.g. power, shields, logic). This would almost...

Good question. Not one I have fleshed out myself. Having an algorithm to figure out which blocks are exposed and which aren't is one way, but I don't know how well that would work in practice. An alternative is that all blocks from ships take collision damage based off their armour rating. The...

If you had more carefully read my post, you would see that the propsed Liquid Nebula would not bo composed of blocks. Secondly, galaxies outside of the Milky Way were once considered nebula, but that has been reconsidered. A nebula is an "interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen, helium and other...

The easiest way I could think of to work around that would be to create non-voxel objects for each zone (somewhat similar to the current planet cores). They could be non-tangible, but apply the effects to ships/astronauts/etc. within it's bounds. The fine tuning to make that work as you would...

I've been playing a few nautical games recently, and love the "exploring the deep ocean" feel that you can get from some of them. The problem with adding true, "aquatic planets" to StarMade is that it is simply not very feasable. So I thought of way we can have that experience of exploring some...

Get to know mindlord0013 Q&A AMA

      1. I'm very familiar with the bug tracker, I've used it on a number of occasions. Both in terms of reporting bugs, and searching for pre-existing bugs in an attempt to find a fix (or if I can add details to help find a fix). 2. At the end of the day, it's Schema's baby. I know he has very big...

Get to know mindlord0013 Q&A AMA

In a similar vein to what other council applicants are doing, I'm having a Q&A here as part of my council application campaign. Ask me any question, relevant or otherwise, that will help you decide if I'd make a good counciller to represent the StarMade community.

Sven_The_Slayer Fair enough. I guess factions/friends will have to collaborate to make sure it can work.

Sven_The_Slayer Hence why we're discussing this USD, to try and have some kind of "universal" dock type. :) In the current iteration of the "USD type 1", this is the smallest compatible dock. It fits and seals like this. Valiant70 had a great idea of adding an additional docking block middle...

Megacrafter127 Oh yeah, of course. I reckon we'll need to see how the actual docking blocks work before we finalise the pattern of docking pattern. Bench gave me a great idea for stations and much larger ships, where problems with male/female orientations can be solved easily with some exta...

Megacrafter127 I don't actully understand what you're disagreeing with here. As long as two USD ports have the same ring dimensions (rounded corners don't matter), and have docking blocks in the same or mirrored positions, they should be compatible. If they have more docking blocks than that...

The main thing is the ring itself, and the general shape of it. It doesn't matter whether the corners are rounded or not, because it still "seals" regardless. Here is the basic shape of my (subject to change) USD. Can we call this USD type 1? (totally not full of myself)

That sounds very cool. Stations or very large ships could store docking adapter-ships and bring them out when needed. Of course, it would help if only a few different USD (adapting the term already) types were decided upon.

I reckon we need a "universal docking collar" design. I suggest a 5x5 square (can be stylised), with a door 1-3 blocks behind it.

Moderation - Warning Point System Overhaul

I think that's geared more towards people who use AA to harrass people and gain artificially high ratings. I remember one time when a person (naming no names) who used 3-4 alt accounts plus his main to give most of my community content 0/5 ratings. I'm sure alts used for legitimate purposes are...

Did someone mention space whales?!? O.O On a more related note, this system looks well thought out. It will be interesting to see how well it works, and how it could be refined.
