The recent Dev Q&A included this:
"Q: Do You plan sound/music update or some sort of competition/collaboration in the near future?
SCHEMA: "I definitely do want some more sound work soon. For music I will announce when that is going to come for every musician to send us music for the game, and...
Cool video! I've always struggled with making smaller ships looking interesting and still be relatively effective - you gave me some good ideas for both :)
I saw a suggestion on a youtube video awhile back that I started using - if you dock a core (or even just leave a core sitting in a cave at your base) it'll show up on your radar. This makes it much easier to quickly narrow down which of the 12 possible sides you started your base on.
So far...
Ingenious ...a way for everyone to speak a standard language in ship class while maintaining the autonomy to call ships whatever you want within different factions.. well done!
It would probably make sense if they based the types of resources likely to be found in a system by the type of star in that system. I'm a little rusty, but I seem to recall a chemistry lesson where they talked about elements and stars... knew I should have paid more attention in high school...
This would definitely be a useful addition to the current system (if they outright replaced the current area trigger it would play havoc with everyone's gravity elevators ;) )
I haven't tried this, but I'm pretty sure you could build out a line of blocks from the station to where you want the gate, start the gate where you want it - then remove the line of blocks. Technically it'd be part of the same station, but they won't be physically connected.
I've taken to just setting up a repeating logic input and manually connecting the jump drive computers to it when they need to charge.. then connecting them back to the core when they're done --- multiple modules attached to a jump drive.. now that's just silly :D
I also started setting up...
I agree with most of the other responders - I think this proposal would add a lot of micromanagement to maintaining ships that would be a buzzkill for most (but certainly not all) players.
However -- I think it would be cool if active systems generated a measurable amount of heat that affected...
Stars can cause random damage to your ships when you're too close (they can possibly damage your personal health too) -- possibly you wandered a little closer to a star than you should have?
The only other thing I can think of is a missile fired from a long ways off (missiles can be fairly...
wow... I hadn't considered that.... I see myself spending a lot more time on planets when the next update comes out :D
first one after the update to design a functional tank gets a cookie!
I think they might have already added the derelict space station spider to some planets already. I started a new game with the recent update and I was getting shot at on the first planet I started to land on (I think it was one of those space station spiders... never could get a visual on it...
It would be nice if they looped around and added some more functionality to the display screens in general :) It seems like there is a lot of potential with the display modules that could greatly enhance the game with a few additional features.
I'd also like if you could do something to make...
So you just avoid owned systems unless you have a spooled up jump drive or are looking for a fight :D My main point was that of the two stealth options, jamming seems the more useful of the two in most circumstances (at least in my opinion).
In the big scheme of things, how a player employs...
Valid point, but how many people are going to regularly use a scanner when they don't have a reason to suspect that they need to? ... of course that might change once they fix the logic linking (or did they already.. I haven't checked that yet on the new update) :D
As far as stealth goes in this game - keep I'm mind that taken independently, jamming is not just easier but also more helpful as long as you're not trying to get close and personal ;)
A cloaked ship still shows a radar signature - it's difficult to recognize a distant ship without a radar...
I want a black light flash light :D ... unfortunately you didn't include a "Yes - I enjoy the dark side" selection, so now I'm confused on which selection to vote on :/
Ships will only get smaller if people cease to find ways of getting more material - and as far as getting more material goes I have one word: "quadrillions".
Scarcity will affect areas, not the entire universe on a server. It just means people will have to relocate or figure out how to...
Fools!!!! Trade your worthless paper and electronic money for gold to bury in your backyard like I do.
.... And I agree - there should be a better and more versatile way to exchange credits between players in this game -- without the use of physical items. Even the title "credit" implies a...
