So I've actually had a chance to play with the new power system... and bugs (including quite a few game-breakers) notwithstanding, I've come to revise my opinion, slightly.
Someone mentioned the goal of stabilizers was to enforce power generation as a function of ship size. I can see where...
T2611, logic connections on rails are erased when rails switch. That was what I was referring to here. (Sorry for the wait, was in the process of looking that up, had to drop everything and go pick up my sister from work)
Actually the bug report I issued is about something related to blocks overlapping in design mode. The rail issue is a separate bug that's already been reported by someone else.
Oh, that? That's Yuki Nagato from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It was the first GIF of someone typing rapidly I could find on Google - needed that to accentuate the quote from Itharad re: Schema's personal hell.
Ok so this is a bug that occurred last night oh about 0030 Mountain Daylight Time (Denver, USA) on the official dev testing server. I will send in a bug report shortly - gotta recover my phab account first since it's been years since I've logged in - but I figured admins need to be aware as this...
Well, if you have a ship built from a shipyard design and the turrets are on the design you can use it to rebuild the turrets no problem, provided you have the replacement parts available. But yeah, can understand how that would be annoying. Perhaps something along the lines of an internal...
My thought is that turrets should not be shielded, ever. Or if they are they would need their own internal shield generators & capacitors to power that shield.
When you think about it, having the shield cover turrets makes no sense since the turrets would not be able to fire past the ships...
I hope you are right on this. My thought on this was that they've already locked in the design of the new power system and are now just ironing out implementation. However, it is possible they merely coded an early dev build to give players/playtesters an idea of how the system would operate in...
See that's what made the game fun for me. Creativity and engineering, coming up with a non-standard solution to fix a problem. Yes it requires intelligence of some degree. Yes, the average casual player might take one look and say "Ain't nobody got time for that!" But here's the thing - the...
Indeed. Well, we'll see what happens. I honestly have no interest in the new power system anymore, and if they are planning on replacing the old power system soon then I don't want to spend time working on my design only to have it become obsolete and unworkable using the new power designs...
Honestly, when the new power system was first suggested I had hoped it would be more like my suggestion above. Unfortunately it seems that Schine is already pushing forward with what is a very flawed attempt to change the power system that in the end will make it more restrictive, more...
I'm actually thinking this is a great idea. Basically, have reactors generate heat based on size of the reactor group. The bigger the reactor, the more heat it generates. Have this heat cause damage to nearby players and blocks if it gets too hot (similar to how your ship gets damaged flying...
I was attempting to join the pre-release server for testing, but this isn't the first time I've had this problem and I've had it across multiple servers before.
I'm having the same issue, and I'm also using a wireless router. However, in my case I do not have the option of an Ethernet cable as the router is in another room on a different floor of the house from my system. However, I don't really have much in the way of issues with games or other...
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, though it has been Photoshopped a bit from the actual scene (she didn't actually have the yandere face or the blood, but the flames were there. Its one of the iconic scenes that earned her the nickname "The White Devil")
I've made a simple pulse clock by connecting a NOT and a DELAY clock together in both directions, then temporarily attaching a button to one and pressing it. It was very useful for creating alternating red-blue flashers for my Time-Space Administration Bureau police ships. That said, I don't...
I still keep forgetting that this is an alpha game. Seeing the long list of blanks between status quo and beta reminded me how far we've come and how far we can go. Here's to the devs to making Starmade a kickass game that is second on my list of all time favorite space games (and I play a LOT...
Agreed with the above. Why bother having separate item types for each shape of block when we can just lump them all together and have one hull/armor block represent all the different shapes for that block?
I play a game called Empyrion: Galactic Survival that has block-based crafting of ships...
