I'm not sure whether wireless logic can work over multiply sectors. But if so then maybe you could set up a map were sectors light up when enemies get in, using this Detector: Enemy Detection (Model II)

I don't think anyone will throw a tantrum over using their uploads, as long you credit them. An easy way to find ships, that fit into your scenarios might be to look into the threat of the fleet-contest: Official Fleets Build Contest

Interesting suggestion, but in the long run I still would rather see an total overhaul of stealth and scanning. Something like Recon hull however might be an nice addition in that case too.
