That would be too easy and boring. TV shows are about action and suspense, not cheap tactics.
besides, I'm sure the Borg, the most technologically advanced and efficient civilization, would have superior sensory and scramble the signals anyway.

Just wanted to point out that on several occassions they have used shuttles to bypass shields. The one that comes to mind most is the one in Next generation where they slipped a shuttle though shields, past the Borg no less, in an attempt to save Picard.
I think the map only loads your current galaxy unless you change a setting in the .config, however, its not reccomended as it creates some load-time every time you open the map.
With this system in place, I'd be in trouble twice every hour...

The reason I said single player was more for the fear that there could be tons of exploits (Players taking apart generated stations for tons of parts and then super titain-ing everyone.) If, however, we could find a way to balance it for Multiplayer too, I dont see why not.
