      scan duration level 5 = PERMANENT SCAN, ALWAYS ON. Costs 0.1% of mass in e/sec. SCan power chamber lv 1 = scan 2.0, which makes up to lv jam targetable, and ALL levels of cloak visible. = 4 chamber/levels left on a scanner ship that can detect/go after a 2-left cloaker/jammer.

      wat? why? It costs you less RC to counter a cloaker than it costs the cloaker to be a cloaker. Balance seemed fine in PvP with my buddy, long range scanners are actually kinda scary-useful.

      so, "permanent" scan duration + 2.0 scanpower = always visible cloakers. the hard-counter even has rc to spare, allowing long-range scanners, extra mobility or offence/defence... so sensor-stations(or scout fleets) Should be fully capable of stopping cloaker-pokers. Just sayin

      I'm not a fan. The distance=%functional thing is so-so gimmick, but it's really quick to transition from 100% to worthless over 5 blocks. A more gradual gradient would help iron out the hatred. If stabilizers were done away with and chambers themselves had distance=%functional mechanic ported...

      current workaround: save a "station" blueprint that auto-launches docked ships and possibly self-destructs. ->if a "derelict station" spawned like this you get "derelict" applied to the undocking ship(s) ->funny possibility if your faction is at war with neutrals and the "derelict" ships attack.

      Download the launcher, then go here: Index of /build/ This is what the launcher downloads from. download the latest one, unzip, run the launcher, point the launcher to the unzipped download as install directory, should work fine.

      cloaking is paper, scanners are scissors, scissors beats paper. Armor is rock, paper beats rock mobility is vulcan: vulcan runs away from rock, is disproved by paper, and smashes scissors. I don't see a "problem" so much as a "danger element" to people who are specced wrong vs a narrow range...

      FYI /data/config/ has the .xml files that show you values. anything with "reactor" in it is tied to the new system. I like that there's a flat energy cost per module on weapons systems. (15/block charge, 3/block maintenance) I haven't played with overdrive and whatnot yet to see if that scales...

      you can always expect doom-cubes because of the dimension-penalties on turning. That's what makes them, NOT POWER. Even the "tower" or "delta wing" PvP ships are outcrops of this system: sacrificing turning/rotation in one set of dimensions to gain it in more useful ones. FYI: I've edited that...
