Translucent Mode - See your logic and systems easily!

I think you could do this by putting a ~25%alpha on a custom texture set...but I'm not so sure it would render the "hidden" blocks so well?

make a new universe in a seperate install folder for any dev build. it's never a good idea to use an existing world, even from a previous dev build.

      Flashlights

For particularly dark builds(or when you have gamma set to anything less than say 1.4) flashlights let you navigate in otherwise blinding darkness of unlit interior spaces

Have you considered playing with the values in /data/config/blockbehaviourconfig.xml to find ones you think are acceptible? I'm currently holding off updating to newest (extra buggy) dev while I play with those values myself, so I'd love to see other people posting their modifications they think...

Eh, same effect could be gained by increasing the mass of weapons systems proportionate to their energy draw, or by decreasing weapons damage by an order of magnitude(more likely). That really comes down to balance config though, and those are all numbers every single server admin has access...

      my Navis is on build

On something that huge, I'd reccomend breaking up the chamfer on the front end to 2 or 3 "tiers" of chamfer, giving you a couple "decks" on which to mount turrets so they can all over-fire each other without shooting each other in the back. -> if you don't have your drones/fighters/whatever...

First off, thanks for expanding my vocabulary, that is a rare event. You get +1 point for that. "Inanition" is an awesome word I'll do my level best to incorporate. Second off: threats of harrassment, not cool. You get -2 points for that. Third off: passing the buck is old. like really old...

Lol, dude(or dudette). You are hillarious. Ever hear of the fallacy fallacy? Don't get me wrong, I respect formal logic, but there is a time and a place for it. I will also point out that formal logic does not mean "correct". That being said, I have respect for you stepping into the realm of...

Oh I'm fully aware Calhoun. What you're missing is a previous exchange. The only issue I have is that they don't understand that "dimensional density" and "block efficiency" are two different building styles. Specifically, that they seem to be espousing a 2*1*12 reactor(13 blocks in unique...

a ship shape you say? really? so if it's a ship it's fine? OK. please, fill it. prove you're right. :muffin: it's REALLY EASEY to prove, right? :kale: it is so glaringly obvious that I and all the major PvP players :eggplant: are wrong :rollingeyesschemacat:

Edit: just for clarity, I think you're missing on one of the changes to power systems. Do yourself a favor. Build a + reactor which is 7 blocks high, 7 wide, and 7 long. (total of 19 blocks) -> note the e/sec now build one that is 19 blocks long -> note the e/sec -> compare notes ->build a 3rd...

It is an opinion, one couched in "less blocks" specifically. The checker-rod pattern you are (uselessly) capslock arguing against is about power Density, not about "efficiency by mass ignoring the rest". If it was NOT about density, you would see PvP ships as literally giant 5-block-thick rods...

1*1*92 IIRC. The optimum gain before fall-off of the curve, while also being just shy of the next major turning penalty round-up. THe new system has plenty of potential, it's just...not quite there. Honestly, I'm starting to evolve my views on Starmade. I'm seeing it less as "the game" and more...

Simple geometry: Reactor size = distance to stabilizers. Distance is most easily gained from adding to one dimension, ergo, a giant blob of reactor on one side REQUIRES you to have X space in between the edge of the reactor and the beginning of the stabilizers. This means that ships move more...
