I have essentially the same set up as in the video. Course my turret is moving much slower and on a ship rather then a station. hmm bug then? I will play around with it some more.

So I had an idea to create a turret that would orbit my ship. The set up was simple:
MAIN SHIP > SHIP 2 docked to a rotor. Off of SHIP 2 I built out into space roughly 200m and placed a turret mount. Off of that I docked a "drone" which is actually just a turret docked to SHIP 2. Turned on...

I always advise against factories that auto pull from storage since there is no way to stop production after a certain quantity is met....
The last thing you want is to start making say... shipyard computers, on a MP server... then have your game crash... and come back to find 20,000 shipyard...
I don't think schema has really re-used any of the IDs yet for new blocks.... I am sure they will get used at some point. For custom blocks though the .proporties reserves 255 blocks, ID numbers 1792 through 2047. I doubt star made will ever come with 1792 blocks by default thought.

Yes, I am very appreciative of all of Schemas hard work :) I've followed this game for three years now and have played it nearly everyday.
Was just wonder the status on the fix as it was moved to urgent 5 days prior to my post and at the time had not been fixed it the most recent DEV build...
So here we are 10 days after the update was released... Not to be a nag but... Are we getting a hot fix soon to make shipyards actually build ships without ejecting their turrets and having chunks go missing?
That's a really good concept, and when you think about it it's already in place in the community. There are already strictly build servers and on the other end there are PvP servers with voter rewards. In the middle is your average "survival" servers.

The build inhibitor is a nice step but won't keep people from being trapped in 50x50x50 cubes of hull or having to cut through them...
One could easily argue that the simple crafting and the ease of making things is also killing the game...

I have to say that this guy nailed how resource gathering should work. I will be keeping an eye on this game.
I especially like the idea of transporting the raw materials to a central location while in a storage box that can be stolen by others.
Maybe one day we will be lucky and see...
