Would it be possible to have a second thruster, flare, etc graphics option that uses the old beacon technique? The bloom effect from the new thruster effects is so demanding that I can't play with bloom on even the lowest setting anymore!

You can also recruit someone to keep your faction points up while you're absent. Give them a low enough rank that they don't mess with your stuff and you shouldn't have to worry much!

That's just the thing, though! The pattern should change, that's all fine and dandy. The colour is what doesn't change much with hull, and shouldn't with beams either.

One thing, though. Should exit portals say what faction/what faction relation they are? If not, players would have to be cautious about whether they shoot a portal exit or not, and I can't figure out if that would be good or bad overall.

Very true. And on-top of this, as more people weave slabs and tetras together I bet a quick patch will fix the health values and make such weaves near useless.

So something like a conversion update might arrive in the future, setting all previously non-rotatables to the 'default' position for existing ships and blueprints?

It would be nice to have a different look depending on the power of a weapon, but not by using colours. Some ships just need coloured projectiles to look at their best, really.

So long as the portal entrance wasn't destructible, the current Jump Inhibitor should maintain its use. I really like the idea of the exit being easy to destroy, this would really make jumping more of a strategic thing than before.

I like this idea, it would work well with this, too. As I doubt a station would be able to interdict a ship that's technically bending the paper to go from A to B instead of drawing a line really fast.

And here I was, thinking this would be a suggestion for aliens that can climb into a pipe and jump out another. Turns out I instead got my chuckle-of-the-day! :D
