Being a big fan of Macross I would love to be able to focus shields in specific spots. It's done in so many sci-fis and it's usually really cool to see. I currently simulate this with force field blocks but I'd love to see actual gameplay mechanics

I think being able to compress and decompress block would be a great mechanic to add. It addresses 2 problems. It helps us be able to store large amounts of things and also make blocks easier to transport. It also helps when you over manufacture too much of something you can convert it back...
I'd imagine the block to be an extension of the trash option in your inventory. I don't think power should be required, but I would like to see a way to recycle blocks in some way. Something like that would be truly worth the power.

Maybe we could also get some precision mining beams that just take out ore too. Tackle the problem at both ends.
I agree that doubling power is not the way to go. It makes combat very boring since you can just stick a ridiculous amount of guns on your ship and have full capabilities like stealth, fast scanners. It makes specialization a joke since you can just make a monstrous ship with everything on it...
Its not possible right now, but thrust mechanics will be getting a revision. The devs haven't spoken about it much so that leads me to believe it's still very much in planning. I have my own ideas that ill most likely post soon in the suggestion forum soon so we can discuss this more.
Do guys consider mech shaped ships or only ships with articulated parts? As far as mech shaped ships ill have a bunch coming along with a front mission style hangar to store them all.
I like the idea of mechs in the game but yea way too limited right now. Micro-ships are generally hard to make viable for anything besides being a shuttle. Hopefully we'll get buffed blocks for smaller ships.
I mean you can just do what I do and use lots of black and no lights. I have a ship that's really fast and hard to see. Camouflage is very easy in this game considering you can put any block on your ship. I think this would make a cool mod though.
Sorry I forgot to mention that the health of the blocks would be equivalent to the mass as well. You're right that would obviously break the game. I figured this would simplify the crafting system for hull and also making block choice a little more interesting.

I think storage should remain the way it is. I think what should happen is there should be 2 separate blocks. One for the new cargo system and storage block should remain as they are. What you are saying makes sense but I don't think they should rename the block as it would confuse people.
I would say that the height of the terrain seems slightly less random and the contours seem more defined. The older generation looked more random and didn't fit together as well. The newer planets have far more distinguishable features and on larger settings look really good. They biggest...
