I have to agree. I think you're better off trying to just have your own discord for playing with people. There are already numerous teamspeak and discord channels used for playing starmade. I highly doubt people will use your discord as an alternative to whatever community server they are...
This would work if the view stayed on the same axis when you do this. When I tried to do this the view was too off center for it to work as intended. Either way I'd like the default view to be facing the same direction as the camera, as it does on undocked ships.
Yea there's two really easy ways to counter it. One would be to have AI controlled missile turrets that will ignore your jamming. The other would be to simply use jamming so you can't lock on to me. Both of these methods would make your bombers totally useless.
I don't really see why that is...
I have an attack ship that has an array of Md that fires from the top and bottom. I was recently was on a server that has small sectors and a relatively high speed. I was engaged with a ship but could only fire a few of my weapons. Even though I was a sector a way and staring right at the ship I...
Just normal rails. I haven't tested it with turrets.
EDIT: Just tested it with turrets and it is the same in both cases. The camera is always looking forward.
I was working on my ship and thought up a cool way to put security cameras in the halls and rooms. I made a docked entity that is a core and a bunch of camera blocks. Turns out that docked entities ignore the direction the camera is facing and my idea is a no go.
I assume this is a bug but I...
I haven't had this exactly problem but i did have my a weird faction bug happen to me recently. I made a new faction on a different world and it changes all the factions on my other worlds to the new one.
I would bet with all the changes to the database in recent time that might be the problem.
I think now that the new LOD system has been added ladders will soon be a thing. It just depends on how many other 3D objects with functionality they want to add. I know for sure that chairs are higher up so we'll most likely see those first.
Making forcefield cost nothing wouldn't be an issue. If you were to delete a block in build mode it wouldn't regenerate. There would be no way just sit there and harvest the blocks. If they are made cheaper then the stats would have to be adjusted accordingly.
As far as making forcefields...
I was figuring that a regeneration tick could happen 15-30 from when a forcefield block is destroyed. the power drain wouldn't be cheap either, at 450ish power per block it would make covering your hull in it a very costly choice.
As far as resource costs go that could be balanced after the...
I agree that transporters feel too easy to get. I also feel this way about a lot of blocks in starmade. Even jump drives are easy to get a hold of.
That being said i don't agree with a flat power usage for transporters. I like that there isn't a size restriction in starmade. Any ship can have...
Not sure what you mean by useless. it would only enhance forcefields and make them be related to energy systems as well. You could use it to seal the hull post weapons impact or you can use them to keep someone from getting into your ship with a torch. It would essentially be advanced armor that...
Soo this is just a random thought I had. What if there was a master block that could slave forcefields. It would regenerate them should they be destroyed. This would happen after a set period of time. It would be a blend of hull and shield properties. The drawback would be that it would cost...
I couldn't agree with you more. I have a fetish for seeing the aftermath of destruction. I feel like every explosion leaves a special little snowflake/scar.
I think even if you don't want to build there is plenty that starmade offers. The engine itself it unique in many ways. All things in the game are blocks, meaning that environment manipulation is far more in-depth than most games. Also having a continous infinite universe is a cool feature.
I...
