      Defending Undocked Ships

That is awesome. I am now imagining a one-sector-sized cube of plex door...

      N-body physics

I'm not convinced we even need gravity to be honest. One of the devs recently mentioned that fixing collision damage was not on their to-do list. Planetary gravity is not much of a hazard without collision damage, so might as well just take it out completely IMO, at least with respect to ships...

      StarMade v0.199.535 - Spring Cleaning

I've been waiting for a StarMade update, and I've been waiting for a Factorio update. Then you guys go and release your updates on the exact same day!!!

      VR Mode?

I bet purple planets smell awful. They always kind of looked moldy, rotten, and swampy to me.

      N-body physics

N-body realism really isn't needed. Even Kerbal Space Program only does patched conics where only one planet/moon exerts gravity on you at a time. Partly because of performance (N-body at 100,000X time acceleration can't be done...) but also because patched conics gets you about 95% realistic...

      Transporter Chains.

I think warpgates only work on ships. I don't know if you can walk through or not in astronaut mode.

      Transporter Chains.

As a similar suggestion, what do you guys think of a higher tier of transporter that allows far greater distances (several star systems perhaps), but costs like 1000x more resources and power to use? And it can only target the tier 2 transporters, not the current short-range ones.

      CraftAU shutting down.

People are bored. I understand the sentiment. There's a flurry of activity on my server for a few weeks after a major update, then it goes quiet again. We log on, play with the new stuff, play with some of the old stuff again, then move on to other things until it's time to do it all again...

      Possibility of adding fuel consumption

I'm still pro-fuel. My opinion is the current free-energy reactors are okay but should be hardcapped so they are only viable for small or starter ships, requiring you to get fuel infrastructure and more powerful reactors in place to support anything larger or more powerful. We know gas giants...

      Where do crew come from?

I want natural civilization, that some of the NPC factions have populated planets and you can somehow recruit NPCs from them. As well as NPCs roaming around trade stations and such and you're able to hire some of them. Then, if you have colonized stations/planets of your own you can have NPCs...

What Do We Want From Planets?

I could use a good cupcake or two right now... Yeah the forums are more entertaining than the game right now. I'm waiting for the next big update before I get back into StarMade. (Actually I'm waiting on the next big update for a few different games...all you Alpha indie developers need to...

What Do We Want From Planets?

#2 and #3 for me. I've been vocal about desiring a better planet experience which falls under #3, but I also like the idea of mining colonies which produce slow but renewable resources. Bonus points if mining colonies/factories/whatever require NPCs to run at full capacity (though it should also...

      Diversification of Resources

I'll be a voice of dissent and state I don't think we need to simulate air pressure. I'm perfectly fine with everyone wearing a magical helmet that keeps them alive at all times. I think air pressure brings more issues than fun to the table. Ships will be harder to design, will be laggier in...

      Proceduraly Generated Fauna

To me, it will make the universe feel much more alive. But I agree that they should not just be decoration, but that they be used as a new type of organic resource.

      Proceduraly Generated Fauna

I think procedural creatures would be too hard to do well. No Man's Sky fell prey to that. Where's that video of the trailer versus the actual game, where the trailer showed all these epic creatures and the actual gameplay footage showed some nonsensical retarded bipedal dinosaur thingy...

      The Importance of Planets

I'm talking out my butt, I'm sure, (one of my specialties ) but I doubt sectors are instances like you're thinking. More likely, they're physics partitions to simplify calculations. Without them, you'd have to compare every ship to every other object in the game which would be very...

Rejected Time to Ditch Planets as Object?

I'm a bit disappointed too. Not that I desire planets to be Minecraft grafted into StarMade, but I was hoping they'd gain a lot more depth. I always wanted to see gameplay be about 75% space and 25% planet-bound. Still looking forward to seeing how planets evolve into strategic resources...

      How do you view planets?

I voted "They're good for one-time mining" but I could have just as easily voted "I don't really care about them one way or the other." My first base is typically on a planet, but once I have a space station started I use planets for mining and that's it. Asteroids are better to gather...

      The Importance of Planets

What if there was a way to survey planets? Get rid of the current two-resources-per-plate system, and have clusters of ores scattered around the planet. You can always mine them by hand, but to mine them by ship you need to identify what ores are on the planet first, either by mining them by...

      The Importance of Planets

There can be a profound sense of wonder associated with exploring a new Minecraft world. I don't get that at all in StarMade, even in space. More like, "Okay, here's another planet, bring in the planet-gobbling salvager and devour it whole." I'd love there to be reasons to land on a planet and...
