Are the grey bits with the glass in them the solar panals? If so it would be a neat feature if you made them with blast doors and glass doors and then added a activator with a not switch and made a second set of them so that you could press a button and they would 'fold back'

As far as I know turning rate is currently judged based on the box dims of your ship not the mass.
