      Salvage Beams As Weapons

Alrighty, you want me to waste time on constructive? Here, we don't use shovels, pick axes etc as weapons because they are tools first and not suitable unless no weapons are available. Majority of the time they are too heavy and not fit for that purpose if a weapon is readily available, hell...

      Salvage Beams As Weapons

Salvage is for picking up scrap. Weapons for making scrap. Want to make scrap? Use weapons. Want to pick up scrap? Use salvagers. Want to do both? Put both on your ship, nothing stopping you. But that doesn't look pretty! Poor baby, next you'll be asking for salvage missiles or nuclear...

      Turrets... how?

To slave a comp to the core select the core with c and press v on the computer. Only thing I can think of other than that is possibly the bobby can't detect the turret axis (had it happen before), or the bobby thinks it can't move the axis. Got any screenshots?

      Has power generation changed?

T340 isn't a bug in my opinion, but a actual feature of the power system working as intended. T340 is the cause of what I like to call 'cascade power failure', in constant drain applications the power failure will cascade down the docking chain until it hits a entity that can supply enough...

      Turrets... how?

Jump in the core of the barrel, check if you can put the missile computer on your hot bar. If the missile computer doesn't appear in the weapons menu slave the computer to the core.

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

So the stumpy has been refitted, 1.1:1 thrust, 10k shields and lasers over cannons. Damn thing still has a power surplus. Quite happy with it now though and it proved little drones can deliver large output quite happily. Next on the list is the box cutter ion drone.

Damage scale of warheads and missiles and nuclear weapons

On the multiple torpedo note, many ships of the time had bulge or blister armour. A ablative buldge below the waterline to prematurely detonate and absorb torpedoes damage. Equiv is starmade is spaced armour.

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

I've got a idea for a aams drone thats a bit more than spew missiles at a target. Ams is effective against missiles heading directly towards or away, but are pretty poor when they are travelling at odd angles near the ams, ams will target a missile until it is dead. Drones tend to orbit and aim...

Testing of Passive effects on docked entites

No, each entity needs its own effects. Certain effects can however propagate backwards (eg ion via shield sharing).

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

AMS drones are actually remarkably simple, can be done in 9 blocks easy as coin drones.

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

Thanks, first time designing and building a combat drone. Lots of things to improve on. Didnt know about the bobby thrust issue so definitly going to take that into account with mkii. I understand 'heavy' generally being related to armour, I should probably change that to something more...

      The ultimate drone R&D thread

Introducing the Stumpy heavy bomber. The Stumpy is a 12x8x11 heavy bomber drone weighing in at 64.5 mass with 111.5 thrust. Pretty poor shielding, far less than I would like but this ugly little critter should never be seen up close by your enemy anyway unless you want to offend them. 3795...

      Some form of classification system

Even just some defined mass stratum would add a lot of structure, even if they are just numbers.

      Some form of classification system

Classifications can be good for providing targets and restrictions. Creativity flourishes with both. How many posts would there be that pop up for best x class y? Hell look at the drone thread as a example.

Anyone got an Anti-Jump Minefield up yet?

Finally home, so here's my current disposable AMS variant jump spike. Theres some logic in there to keep it going after unload once activated so while disposable they are also persistent.

Anyone got an Anti-Jump Minefield up yet?

I've got micro AMS jump spikes designed to be scattered liberally, nothing permanent yet though. Might post some screenshots when I get home.

      Dev Blog : September 9th 2015

Honestly the dev blog is kinda light on detail, I was expecting a more technical explanation rather than layman overview. The Axis scan is a pretty neat idea, though wouldn't bounding spheres run through a cached pruned list be faster?

i know i can, but how can i? (docked power reactors)

A traditional power supply based docked reactor peaks at about 145 power per block last I checked, may be higher (~165 if math now works right) or lower depending on changes to tick handling since I last checked.
