Creative post, thanks for sharing!
There certiantly do need to be some changes with mining and crafting atm.
I's just not a very engaging aspect of gameplay, spending 2 hours jumping around till you find the right asteroid in identical systems isn't terribly exciting either. I'm not quite sure...
True, they do require a heffty rig at times though :P But at least they've got them working.
Empyrion GS also offers very well optimizedprocedual planets as well, without any loading screens as well or performance issues.
So Jump animiations is a load screen:?
What is suggested is simply just a Jump from one sector to another. Nothing new, just different visuals.
Even if this idea is complete trash, something needs to change to make planets a viable, and a useable part of the SM universe imo.
There has been no...
The Point^^
I cannot agree enough!
Diversionary tactics :? Too scared to front up to not knowing what to do, they throw a dress and makeup on a monkey and tell you to take it to prom night -_-
(I mean I love these devs, but good, honest communication makes a world of difference. The most...
Yeah, good point :/
Reading the thread, even back then they seemed stuck in the same stubbon mindset that has got us in this Power 2.0 mess.
Apparently an "Atmospheric Entery Effect" would completly ruin the game and is far worse than the laggy mess we have now -_-
I mean they DO look nice atm...
I'm a bit drunk atm, but I think I ment that each induvidal world would be the same for everyone, not different for each player.
(If thats what instanced means:?)
With different planets being spawned, generating different bioms depending on their type or something. Idk
Forward
This post will make a number of assumptions and suggest some pretty outlandish things. And that's ok.
Even if there is a 0.1% chance of something in this post helping to improve planets then it's more than worth it. Parts of it simply may not be possible in Starmade, so please do share...
So many informed and heart felt posts here. Thank you all for your feedback and I dearly hope the devs read it.
How long will it take before something changes? How many months will the dev team waste building a system that only a minnority of players will use? I hardly ever come back to the...
Simply put- The new power is less fun, less engaging and will piss you off if you need to change anything.
A nightmare of a system to work with :/
Each new addition is another stake through my shriveled heart when it comes to even attempting to build a new ship -_- :(
It's more like the devs and us are two friends at a dart tournament.
The goal is pretty simple, and both us and out friend (the dev) agree that you can achieve your goal by hitting the dart board.
So out Dev friends line up a shot, but then miss.
"Better luck next time Chap, let me help guide...
I beg to disagree, why would Schema do that? Half their work is optimizing the game lol, trashing performance would be a cardinal sin for them.
Considering what the game is, it has amazing optimisation.
If they don't work with the community bothe the game and community will die.
Certiantly in a...
I concurr, theres a ton of intersting and fun mechanics they could at least have disscused!
I think the community is fed up with the devs reluctance to directly communicate their thoughts and feelings on the game.
With the devs and community working together we could have already had the power...
This ^^^^
With the old mechnics (however flawed) I loved being able to take any design I wanted and make that into a viable and effective (not to mention stunning) looking Ship.
The new power mechanics just seem to miss the mark.
I agree that "Systems" should be more like systems...
Personaly I quite liked the orginal system XD
It had it's flaws, but creating a giant factory creating infinate blocks using looping recipies was extremly satisfying :3
The current system just feels meh.
You can always do cool logic stuff, but I just can't be bothered. It would take more time...
A solid Heat (or insert scfi term here) would do the power system wonders imo.
Not too complex (e.g hard to understand in a short paragraph), yet not too one dimensional at the same time (e.g the current stabalizor mechanic) would be the ideal.
It could also be a good way to get some sort of...
You've probably heard this before, but power numbers and consuptiom now are completly differen. E.g 5.5k e/s might be the same as the old 17.5k e/s.
Can it run the same systems/acheive the same performance in the old vs the new:?
