Does people still play this game?

Yup, none of us will get everything we want, but its not so terrible. :)

Does people still play this game?

Well it means they aren't going to completely overhaul those systems anymore. The basic idea of how they are going to work is basically finalized now. Like it or lump it, it is what it is. :)

      When you're mining

Yup, sounds like somebody was custom building asteroids.

Does people still play this game?

Yeah, they've said in the last FAQ that other than tweaking, what we've got now is what we're gonna have. There will be no more power or weapons overhauls. Tweaks, and whatever adjustments are needed after the universe revamp, but we are officially good to go with learning the new systems.

Does people still play this game?

I'm not playing at the moment mostly because I'm practicing what I preach. If you don't want to deal with transition periods where certain things don't mesh well, then go play something else until they're done. Lot of stuff still bouncing back and forth, and I don't really want to be...

      Giving Back, How Do?

If you really want to help in an easy way, buy the game. Get your shiny little white and black forum badge. :) Beyond that? Blueprints. If something doesn't seem to be balanced right, or the mechanics are acting funky in ways you don't think they should, save a ship that is experiencing it...

Sometimes, you need to be positive.

See, this I find perfectly acceptable. I like the general idea of holistic, defined, connected systems. Hence, I like chambers and conduits. I do actually feel like I'm building something "real" when I use it as opposed to the previous "Well this gordian knot makes no sense logically...

Sometimes, you need to be positive.

Again, there is a difference between voicing concern and screaming or demanding to get your way immediately. No one said they didn't have good points. The devs themselves said they had good points. What killed them was their bad attitude and "We don't care that this problem is getting fixed...

Sometimes, you need to be positive.

And in all honesty, that was the community's fault. We had a group that made it their mission to do nothing but scream at the devs and stamp their feet until they got their way. They'd say X is a problem, and suggest Y as a fix. Devs would go "Hey, you know, you're right, X is a problem. We...

Sometimes, you need to be positive.

Its a problem that should sort itself out over time. The people who just can't adapt will leave. The more that changes, the more it will push them away. Once that particular brand of old guard has cycled out, things should get better. Meh, then they just do a new contest for the new players...

      Yup, pretty much.

building is all cookiecutter and becomes boring

Eh, thats okay. Best of luck finding something else to play. :)

      Shield/Armor Changes/Improvement Ideas.

They are. Armor is also apparently on the table to be reworked along with the weapons (they talk about finding ways to make armor viable for large ships without making it overpowered on small ones), so we can't really say what does or does not work with weapons/shield/armor interactions right...

      What is Wrong with Starmade

Honestly? Thats because of how much "feedback" they were getting about how "it forces us to build spaghetti ships", so more stuff got added in to combat that. Not being passive aggressive, just listing options. There's lots of stuff to do without trying to focus on the one thing that isn't...

Graphics glitch in tetras heptas and slabs.

I didn't get screenshots, but I had the same thing happen to me with wedges. The diagonal side was solid, but the horizontal back went transparent. When I tried to take one up, the game crashed. Reloaded, wedges were still transparent, but I could take them up and put them back down to...

My Thoughts on the New SM

Its how I build many times. Unless I know that there is specifically going to be a rigidly shaped system (like a salvage array) that I have to design around, I'll build the shell first and then add systems as needed. I don't find any enjoyment in min/maxing a ship that has no constraints on...

      What is Wrong with Starmade

Just saw someone post the other day about being excited the game was still up and making progress, whereas all their other early alpha stuff had died off. Was also reading an article on indie game development that mentioned one of the successes having been in development for over 7 years. Real...

      What is Wrong with Starmade

Well, not to sound rude, but none of us are vital to keeping the game going right now. Its an early access alpha. Every single person playing or who has ever played right now could stop or be banned tomorrow, and the overall course of the game would not change in the slightest. In such a...

      What is Wrong with Starmade

Because that would have been a waste of time and effort. They've said the weapons revamp is next on the list. They're working on redoing them right now. Why would they spend all the time and effort to try and rebalance existing weapons when they're getting rid of them entirely in the very...

Do we now have vulnerable docked entities on Stations?

That is how I would expect it to work. Only the blocks inside the bubble get the effects of the shields. Haven't tested it with non-homebase stations with large docked ships, but my assumption on how it should work is that any blocks of the ship inside of the station's shields are protected by...
