Not exactly. Spy ships do exist, IRL, even now, in modern age. Often in connection to satellites or as the ones employing sonar/radar - exactly. They come in variety of sizes because often, for the sake of utility they are fit with equipment allowing them to perform functions beyond recon, but...

      Gigantism

The size of the objects radar scans for does matter (so called radar cross-section) - of course, it doesn't matter the most as there's whole lot of other, different qualities like shape, material or polarization, but it does. Properly built, smaller vehicle more often than not will be harder ot...

      Gigantism

To be honest, I wouldn't find it much unrealistic for smaller ships to be better as couriers (less mass to shuffle around, general mobility), stealth reconnaissance (smaller signature, less noticeable energy etc emission) - substituting reconnaissance reasons for 'better ability to use terrain...

You've addressed the fuel, great you did clear the misunderstanding and the impression you consider it a lone way to fix the issue. That was one thing I actually did disagree with. Now, for the sake of ensuring that indeed we do agree I'd like you to actually address rest of the post you...

But both parties are not in full agreement - devil's in the detail. In regards to the post you've quoted just to claim I am basically agreeing with you, I wrote what I did not for the sake of you seeing how I agree, but because you were giving an impression that the discussion is about people...

If you do believe I am condescending, my apologies - but do point out what problem you have with what you actually have a problem with so I can explain what made me write what I did, instead of just addressing a post to make somewhat rude remarks. Now, regarding 'I am gonna agree but' it's...

Glad you're catching up to what is actually one of the sources of the problem as quite a few of us see here - that it is very easy to field and maintain such ships for what benefits they provide. Related to that is the issue of 'do-or-die' where usually big ships either overcome their enemies...

      More block colours

I am perfectly happy with the current palette. In fact, most often I ignore majority of colors during construction outside of color-designation markings etc. The whole block mechanics apparently does have a few limitations and thus should be up for improvement, no matter the colors.

      ship specialization

Well, I'd like to see more specialisation, though right now I find it unlikely - for example, in case of weapons, there is simply no downside to slapping a few cannon and shield blocks onto a ship - ship design doesn't even need to really take them into account (beyond very optional aesthetics)...

Colt556, please, before replying - spend some time checking the thread and reading my and many others' stance because it seems you present opinions which not only were already discussed, repeatedly, but also do not - sans the extreme degree you take them to - oppose what many of us are saying in...

Balance of mechanics is also dev's concern. Most groups on most servers go in the direction of bigger vessels not half as much because of RP or aesthetic factor as because said vessels are far better when it comes to risk/price vs profit./advantage ratio. That should be balanced so increase of...

      Gigantism

I'd like to point out that Lecic doesn't seem to advocate hard limits on size, but mentions the lag problems caused by ships which is a an issue for developers to resolve. Outside of that, creativity and freedom is important in a game like StarMade, but it never should come at the great...

      Will starmade support hololens?

To be honest, it doesn't really seem too practical. A fun gimmick, something to amuse but neither it really would allow both comfortable and fair play nor seems to allow the same degree of precision a player has using good ol' keyboard & mouse combo. I may be wrong, maybe they simply didn't dive...

It seems that not only you didn't read my earlier post regarding drones, drone carriers and how they are still scaling in tune with gigantism issue - not just as titan opponents but in general - but you still look at the whole problem from the standpoint of titans. Forget titans for a moment...

      Gigantism

Pirates scaling to the location makes sense but they shouldn't scale to the size of the player's ship in any situation outside of calculating what fleet of them has to be spawned to pursue said player. I actually think it'd be great if there'd be dangerous areas populated by pirate factions that...

      Brainstorm This New Power Block

Yup! Though right now the HP as shown in dev build seems to be calculated applied to all kinds of blocks, including fragile electronics and the shields still protect both exterior and interior of the ship, which things pose a problem I've regarded above.

      Brainstorm This New Power Block

I wouldn't mind such kind of block, however it'd be important to change how shields and HP system works for the sake of it. I would need to look for the suggestion, but I regarded it in recent post: Currently, with shields protecting interior of a ship and armor granting durability and being...

      Gigantism

Actually, in all honesty I have my doubts about it. Refer to my argument about drones. If bigger is better in every case, doesn't come with significant, lasting shortcomings, penalties and risks then it's a go-to answer. In this situation, AI won't improve anything - it will merely lead to...

For that we need to establish certain difference between persoanl player's involvement stemming from his preffered playing style and ambitions and in-game costs. For example, like I've pointed out, the time and effort used in putting blocks together I cannot at the current level of most ships'...

      Gigantism

A bit of disclaimer - I don't have problem with existence of big ships. The problem me and quite a few other players I know of that supposedly are against 'gigantism' doesn't lie in the big ships themselves but in the flaws of mechanics and balance that force player to create such with no...
