      Anyone still confused about integrity?

That makes sense then - the salvagers were rather poor a month or two ago. Sorry for misunderstanding where you were coming from... The current dev cycle is seeing a lot of massive changes. Here in forum we are calling it "Weapons 3.0," but we may actually be misleading ourselves. The focus is...

      Flare Reduction

I love all the beautiful flare effects - please don't lose these! But. It would be very helpful to have a hotkey for a reducing or muting the flare effect on the fly. Because I enjoy it most of the time, but then I try to mine a roid near a star.... between the star and my own beams half of my...

      Spawn Ships to Docking Rails

Perfect! I forgot about that mechanic (selecting a rail on which to create a new entity). So they really do have all the main pieces already coded. It would certainly take some real work to troubleshoot, but probably very, very worth it IMO.

I was considering the same - it does seem to make sense. I was being conservative, operating on the principle of no waste.

      Spawn Ships to Docking Rails

When I spawn a ship from schematic in a shipyard, it appears docked to the shipyard core. So this function mechanic exists. When I spawn a ship from a blueprint (or shipyard), it would sure be nice if I had the option to tell it to spawn docked to a named rail dock on my structure. Instead...

      Controlled Ship Stop While AFK

It would definitely be better to have a comprehensive nav system. Particularly if you could schedule jumps with it as well.

      Controlled Ship Stop While AFK

Not sure if the best way to do this would be a timer, a distance calculator, or something more complex like a function that reads your ship's distance from your current waypoint and stops the ship if it ever starts increasing. This way if you send your ship forward to a destination and step...

      Anyone still confused about integrity?

Well, I do agree that integrity is probably supposed to have an effect on salvagers, but I haven't read anything definitive. It certainly isn't a problem right now. I tested the different mining rods each on their own computer, fired separately. I tested them each over 10 times, because the...

      Anyone still confused about integrity?

I don't really find it difficult to work with at all at this point. I barely even notice it anymore. It's hard for me to understand how anyone who has played with it for a few hours can have difficulty effectively navigating it, but I guess everyone is different. I personally find it to be...

      Anyone still confused about integrity?

The integrity system is complex, and not entirely straightforward to analyze with simple math and that can be off-putting - no argument. It took extensive applied testing for me to feel comfortable with what a good integrity value is (including testing ships with low and borderline integrity...

      Anyone still confused about integrity?

I guess that's why it kind of bugged me. It was clearly not based on applied testing (sorry - thorough applied testing). When I first started testing under integrity, the warnings freaked me out and I tried to make sure everything had max integrity - especially since so many older players on...

      Anyone still confused about integrity?

Actually, the integrity system seems intended to create a choice where none was before. There was no legitimate reason to settle for less than the single, optimal configuration. Yes, anyone could have chosen at any point to build an array with inferior efficiency, but there was no benefit to...

Explosion effects (AKA we need Michael Bay)

That's exactly what I meant by flares. We use them for stars, for beacons, thrust plumes and more. I think that sprite explosions are cool, but they should be accompanied by or replaced with flaring that will show at distance. So when a ship eats a missile broadside, hard, it will be lit up like...

      Anyone still confused about integrity?

So... I saw a question in the current Q&A thread expressing a belief that integrity has made waffle arrays for salvage obsolete. I was surprised. I can only imagine that a lot of people are so intimidated by integrity that they still haven't actually tried doing a lot of building with it...

      Marketing Post Galaxy

We have been given to understand that Schine has (deliberately) never yet used any of the free advertising and marketing options long available to them through Steam. I think that once a stable Galaxy reboot has been pushed to release and patched, it might be a good time to tap the least of...

      Low System Integrity Warning?

Yeah, that has been for months, I believe. Excessive, IMO, but a fair principle. At first I went to block shields, but after testing I found they can be wrapped around other stuff, just not totally thin and stringily. Just gotta keep the integ positive with a little buffer for damage.

      Low System Integrity Warning?

Nah. Same ship I had been testing with before at a 1M and 5M shield increments. And the damage was visibly affecting the hull, on-target, not explosions in the shield chambers which had already been in place for a few weeks of other testing. They were doing 2 and 3 version updates a day at the...

      Low System Integrity Warning?

Actually, I believe that the only reason people started getting this message is because - as OP mentions - for a time there, shots were doing damage and erasing blocks through standing shields even at near-max levels on 7-digit shield systems. Not sure if it was intended or not.
