How does having only half the power helps to have more systems? It's actually the other way around. If I have 2x power I can power 2 times more systems.
Oh yeah, checked, I actually misclicked and it is 29x29x30.
Why do I need to enclose it? Why do I need to put forward facing weapons up front when they would work as well if I put them behind stabilisers ?
Try reactor stabiliser pair that is thinner and you'll see your gains shrink. Having a reactor wide on a forward cross-section so that opponents could shoot it better seems like not that good of an idea. If you use single layer reactor / stabiliser plates they'll need even more armor to cover...
Single layer covering the whole body of the ship instead of only a couple of plates protecting critical systems and buried at least 20-30 layers under shield blocks, interiors or girders. Or all of the above.
I'll save you the need to do it. Here.
As you can see the shorter "ship" is 1800 tons heavier. And that's assuming absolutely insane use of advanced armor.
Yes.
Only if you wrap your whole ship in advanced armor, the ship is more or less cylindrical and your reactor is smaller than 15k blocks (I think that was the cutoff for saving mass on armor or something around it). Ships that don't use advanced armor as plug for each hole, that have more...
More FP gain per shot / engagement, but not per time. With dirt I don't need to risk getting shot back and can arrange it when I want it. It's a by-product of mining which everyone will do to some extent so it's more or less free FP. It takes as much time as you need to throw a dirt asteroid...
You could ask Veilith. He checked some spaghetti ships in power 2.0 and was pretty "pleased" with the results - they kicked ass even more than they do now. At least he said something to this extent in chat.
As the only limitation on reactor is the fact that it must be built in a single group...
But what you've written is currently wrong in context of the post quoted by you. While technically spherical ships are possible reactor-stabiliser pair in no way helps to create them due to the most effective position for them being on a single line at opposing sides of the sphere. What you have...
It is still one dimensional. The fact that your blocks are displaced on an Y axis doesn't matter because reactor and stabilisers work as ends of a one dimensional line made in three dimensional world.
Imagine a ruler. It doesn't matter how you turn it in your hand it still will be a straight line.
The same thing that happens when you shoot turrets on other ships - they blow up. Unless the creator moved all his weapons into turrets there still should be some guns on the main body.
