Haha! Well remembered. It is still in progress, however very close to "completion". I think i will have to stagger some of the content. Terrain may not be overhauled when the pack first drops, it would come shortly after. There is a lot of peripheral work going into this too to make sure...

      Aux Power & Gigantism

IIRC a gpu is built to read the simplest primitives (triangles). From what i've read meshes are processed as tri's in most circumstances because the math is quicker / simpler. A triangle is inherently planar, where as a quad might not be. However, people advocate modelling in quads as it...

      Aux Power & Gigantism

This game has an active player base though, it's very important it runs on the player bases machine and not wishfully hoping in 2 years time they will have upgraded to play Starmade again. As previously noted, this is a sandbox game with currently very few build restrictions. No matter the...

Yes, this doesn't replace or remove the Pixel pack.

Worth exploring. Thanks for the feedback. :) I can look at this and other colours too after the new pack drops.

Yea, i imagine this doesn't look great. It's also unavoidable for the foreseeable future too, if i'm honest. Hopefully i cover why below. Yes, if the current hull sets are at odds to the style you wish to achieve, this is very true. However changing the hull to something which will fit yours...

Not sure i understand.. can you elaborate? Are you referring to computer faces?

Not many. Only generic rock (which i'm unsure on) and sand (which i quite like). Terrain will be the last set of blocks i tackle. Yes. Very poopy.

That's unfortunate. Maybe they'll grow on you when you see them in game.

      What is this block?

Looks like the blank side of activation gate modules with display block O's written over them to me.

Phew.. glad you guessed this one correctly! Yea, perhaps. On top of that most "computer" stuff is having to get simplified and scaled up to prevent overly detail dense blocks, almost to cartoon like depictions. While it may not look like a real life server rack, it does help keep continuity...

Work in progress etc etc. Green logic?! Are you mad?! Sensors and Area triggers do not output a signal themselves directly, they need to be linked to an activator. Green will be used to prevent misinterpreting their default states as High or Low signals.

Planned Decluttering the screen: Replace Popup Window functionality with sane alternatives.

Azereiah Absolutely agree with all of that. It's pretty much inline with my own thoughts on removing the excessive amount of debug / clutter / tedious info for some of the most simple tasks and mechanics in the game. It's my definitely on my to do list. It's time to start treating the HUD as...

From our old reports (pre phabricator era), we tracked it to frame buffer issues. Could you try disabling the frame buffer when the issue appears for direct comparison?

Yea, this makes sense. Around this time we changed how mipmapping works. The new method gives much better results when looking at a surface from a distance until you get into very acute viewing angles. At this point it is potentially worse, one of the compromises i referenced earlier. It's...

They do (they should), in 2 ways. There is a hard cap on when we stop drawing normal maps completely. There is a second soft gradient that floods the normal map with a "flat" value (128,128,255) at a pretty close range to (help) avoid Moire patterns. Your above screenshot looks like bleeding...
