StarMade 0.17 Warp Gates, Jump Drives, and a lot more

    By my understanding (haven't actually played patch yet) you can't have more than one gate on the same station structure? If that is true, then RIP my entire build plan.

    Yea, the station is pretty much a marker for where the portal sector is. Might help if you make a few stations very close to each-other. :)

    Aw man, that screws up my idea too. I was going to have 6 gates in the staring sector, with each one going out along a different path.

    So the new template saves will be sperated from .sment-files? Is there already a section to upload them? I haven't quite understood how to import and use them in build mode :oops:

    I think that you should be able to have multiple destinations per computer, and have the game ask you were you want to go. You also should be able to give your destinations names (or just have them display the station name as the destination).

    I think that you should be able to have multiple destinations per computer, and have the game ask you were you want to go. You also should be able to give your destinations names (or just have them display the station name as the destination).
    My guess is that this will happen in a future update, seems to be the logical progression of the system anyway. For now, my players will just have to enjoy warp gates in one direction, unless they create their own.

    The Community Staff should definitely not forget to implement the new chat system in the near future.

    You must hold right-click on one gate first then left-click on the other, mouse button must be help for at least 5 secs or so before it links it. Hope this helps :D
    well, DUH. Nothing that I've already didn't know. You see; i CAN link the gates. The problem is - you can't go in both directions. For example: from point A to B ONLY.
    So; I can connect A to B, but not A to B AND B to A.
    So; in the end you are left with 1-way gate connection.

    Did you hold right click on point B after getting there to enter it's position? And did you then hold left click on point A when you got back?
    Because I really did do it, and I'm surprised you can't.

    okay so I can not download the launcher and the old launcher no longer can play the game, so I may no longer be able to this game any more (yes I am crying because 1 hour before the update I just finished a ship that I spent 8 months on) so I end with this peace out I hope the launcher is capable of being downloaded soon. PEACE

    Well then, my entire plan for warp gates just went down the pan. Pretty much everything that makes this epic is negated by the silly way it was implemented - 1 gate per station and 1 station per sector. Guess I'll be sticking to ships, too bad, was really looking forward to this. :(

    I could have sworn it was changed to be linked to the computer instead of the station. At least, that was planned, anyway. I'm pretty sure it was in game, though.

    just did some testing of blueprints saves and i just discovered that if you save a blueprint with the jump drive fully charged. when u load up that blueprint it starts with the jump drive fully charged!

    Meaning that we could get one free jump from a blueprint!
    I find it funny that so many ppl think this is a joke, Its not. I was trying to point out a great fact

    The game saves the state of the Jump drives charge level. meaning that if you're smart you will charge up your jump drive before you save your ship as a blueprint so that when you spawn it in next time it will be ready to jump. as opposed to you spawning it in and having to wait and charge up

    I feel like that is an exploit more than a useful feature.

    anyone know what the admin commands are for the warp blocks and the jump drives are(both blocks and computers)?

    EDIT: i found the admin commands:
    542 for warp computer
    543 for warp module
    544 for jump drive computer
    545 for the jump drive module
