    Stuff I've done lately:
A bit of progress on the turret from the last post:

I also decided to give the ships in this style a bit of a facelift, new ams turrets are still missing, here's the 114-1 Skirmisher (yes, I decided on a name for it):

Some stuff for a series which hopefully will happen at some time

That's pretty much all I feel like sharing screenshots of for now, maybe you can expect some interior bits soon™

Sadly not, due to that turret being unfinished and me not having built anything that could fit a 140m long turret without looking idiotic

MeRobo , I love those activation gate "back" textures to make interiors. The teleporter pads also have great textures. Only Hope they wont get removed on a future update, like they did with the antennas. I really miss that one.

Antennas, shield supply beams, power auxes... They threw away too many textures I'd say. And how am I supposed to do stoves now???

BTW you can get excellent floors using girder tips. Lightweight and nice. Plus you can use computer side to get some nice wall details.

    Thrusters make good stoves.

They make good fridge lover parts if your fridge is not next to a wall. Seems I mistyped there, said "stove" meant "oven". And I wish there was anything to make a heater in that one xD. First used auxes and they were damn good. Then with Power 2.0 switched to shield supplies. Guess what? They were cut too...

As for stoves, I prefer missile rack rear texture. Makes a nice grilling plate/induction cooking surface. A bit industrial though. Thruster stoves have some unhealthy blue glow xD

The blue glow is the burning of natural gas. It's all good and safe!

A little bit of progress has been made. Changes to the rear around the engines, exchanged the starboard logo for a number (not sure whether I'll keep that) and minor change on the ventral fins (removed one slab). Have some screenshots.

    Aforementioned external changes.

    Elevator thing

    Core room stuff

Maybe I find the motivation to finish the interior (crew quarters, medbay and room from which weapons are controlled) of this ship.

Let me know if I should keep the numbers or go back to the logo.

    progress on the Excubitor superstructure
    Remember this thing?
Well, I changed the superstructure again. Also it's brighter inside.

As you can see, it has turrets now. I know the layout is a bit odd, but I like it (and it's more practical than historical similar layouts (like Nelson class) because all three turrets can fire forward, however, I don't have to follow naval treaties or worry about making this thing too top heavy). It now resembles the unnamed lost cruiser more than before (ignoring different turret layout and larger size). Could be that future screenshots don't feature these empty turret shells (or only one) as it's easier to fix the numbers on the turrets than having do the same weapons three times. Turrets are also objectively better than those on the aforementioned cruiser due to being able to depress their guns (although only a bit) and having larger interior space in the barrel entity (still nothing impressive, due to the style of turret). Not sure how to approach the idea of AMS turrets, definitely not the absurd turret spam approach, maybe make the somewhat resemble AA guns (inb4 octuple pom pom rip off).

Bwahaha... low profile, they said. xD That thing is gigantic. Wouldn't it be easier to just make a second one on a lower portion of the ship?

yes, that would also go into it, but having a base allowing for a lower silhouette would still be necessary for it to not look dumb imo, due to the base being pretty tall

Maybe just go with two low profile? Might make things look sleeker.
