My save file is no longer able to load after my computer shuts down from overheating. I'm unable to find a way to get my world loading again. Does anyone know how to fix a broken world, or at least upload a fixed version of my world?

First of all maybe deal with the overheating issue?

Second i don't think StarMade makes backup saves of the world. Your shutdown most likely happened during an attempt to overwrite an existing save file and it got corrupted.

Your best option would be to learn from this mistake and monitor the temperature of your hardware next time in order to know when the time comes to have a better use of it at cooking your breakfast.

I would suggest reapplying the thermal paste on your CPU and cleaning the dust off from the internals of your machine. Usually helps ;)

    Here you go

i put 3 files of your universe in the "backup corrupted" folder.
one of those is damaged but the game will recreate them.
you might try to move them back in the base universe folder one by one and try to start the game if it does not work delete the file.

if you start as it is now it will work but there might some things lost.

How do you determine which file(s) are corrupted?

    Trail and error...

i deleted some, tried to load the universe... and repeated this until i got it narrowed down to those 3 files.
i could have continued until i knew if it were all of those 3 or just one but i think it was enough for him to do the rest.

the most likeley files to get corrupted by a crash are ones that are constantly in flux.
    in his case these were:
    FLOATING_ITEMS_ARCHIVE.ent
    SIMULATION_STATE.sim
    TRADING.tag

i would bet the only corrupted file was "SIMULATION_STATE.sim" but i was too lazy to continue the load and reload process...

Thanks for making an attempt at repairing my corrupt world(s). From now on, I'm just going to backup my worlds just before I start playing them.
