    Howdy folks,

So rather than resurrecting my old thread.. again.. going to try something a little different and have separate threads for active projects. Or shall we say semi-active as I'm not quite as full time and most of you all here but never the less I hope to actually finish my ships one of these days.

As a recap, my original thread is here.

There was a lot I was unhappy with, with my original build of this ship. Along with learning to use the build tools and more recent improves.. and with the power system update.. I decided to just scrap my original work and start over from scratch.

The new build is quite a bit more compact but much more interesting. I've been unsure how to handle the front.. uh.. whatever you want to call it? 6 arm like pieces on the front. What I will probably end up doing is build those as turrets which will look much easier and look nicer than simply building them directly on the ship.

I'm still just doing the outer shell. Detailing the exterior won't be for some time. Overall though I was able to rebuild this pretty quickly compared to the original build. If I'm not careful I might actually get good at this.

I managed to keep the look of the engines. Not much else to see at the moment. I'm really looking forward to the power update and will probably give my other ship and station similar treatment and just starting over from scratch. Would be easier I think than gutting them both.

This is primarily a mining ship.. so key features will include a powerful manual fire mining array and tons of storage. I may also install an automated mining array on the bottom. It will also carry a small fleet of ships.

I plan to do a lot with the interior but will get to that when I come to it. Functionality comes first.

I may release this in stages in case anyone wants it and would like to do their own work on it before I'm done. (Assuming anyone actually wants it of course :) )

Bravo on starting over! It can be very freeing.
Thanks. I'm SO much happier already. But I also figure it would be even more work NOT to start over in a lot of ways. I've learned a lot since I first started dabbling.. just from playing with stuff and refining my own vision for what I'd like to build. Scrapping my station will be painful but there's so much of it that just doesn't really work anymore for what I know and would like to do.

Sometimes you just have to not be stubborn and say screw it.. this is for the best. :)

So now that I have the basic form I'll be mostly waiting for the power update. Oh and feedback and questions are always welcome. :)
