    So I fired up SMEdit Classic just now to import a Binvox model, something I do fairly regularly. Last time I loaded it was around a week ago and it worked fine. I just started it and this popped up -

    What in the world?!? This didn't happen last time I used it! I'm too scared to update it in case it breaks! If I hit no, it doesn't load.

    Yes I know SMEdit is (was?!) outdated and doesn't work with the new blueprints. And yes I know there are newer programs that do the same thing. I've imported literally hundreds of models into Starmade and my method is tried and true.

    Model -> Binvox to voxelise

    Binvox -> SMEdit to easily rotate to make sure ships are the right way round

    SMEdit -> SMBEdit to convert to new blueprint format and mirror on axes to ensure symmetry

    I'm literally too terrified to hit update in case it breaks and I have to change my method. It might be old fashioned but it works!

    Who on earth is updating SMEdit?!

    Hey, make a full copy of your SMEdit (onto USB just to be safe if you really want to) then update and see what happens :D then you have a fallback plan!

    Yeah so I did that...

    When I hit "yes" it started to update for a split second, then stopped and asked if I wanted to update again. Rinse and repeat, in a loop. Wouldn't open at all until I yanked out my ethernet cable. Worked fine after that :rolleyes:

    Just closing the update box worked for me

    Don't click yes or no. Click the X in the top right corner.
