How does one change the procedural backgrounds?

    I am aware you can edit the generic background to make a custom greenscreen or whatever you like, but where are the procedural backgrounds stored? I want to replace some of the textures with nice Hubble images or similar.

    Because the backgrounds are procedural generated, they are not stored as actual image files. They are most likely stored in system/sector log files as data for a background generator and are randomly generated for each system.

    If you would like to replace the background, you can find the default background under starmade->data->sky and set procedural backgrounds to off in options.

    Note that the background in a set of 6 files to create a full spherical BG

    The problem is just that they don't exist as image files. They exist as data.

    Darn......
    There isn't a file that is easily edited anywhere, or are they hardcoded into a data file?
