    Individual swarm missiles tend to be weak, which makes armour quite effective against them, and slow enough that shields tend to recharge enough to stop the damage (missiles don't transfer left over damage nearly as well as cannons). They're also not particularly clever in what they target, so they tend to group up on single targets instead of spread equally over a group. The big advantage they have is you don't need to target with them, but at the size scale you're dealing with here that's not very significant, as the better ships will always be able to keep with in the firing line.

    I find that to be extremely odd. I have to wonder in that case as to the nature of the "swarm boats" that got entered. Here I was imagining all sorts of extremely esoteric solutions to the tournament quandary. Now I am thinking I should just enter my own imagining of how to build a "swarm boat", as I have no idea how to defeat such an equal mass ship of my own construction short of running away. (I've built several "swarm boats" in the past as swarmers were my armament of choice for battleminers, for obvious reasons, which is mostly what I have always flown.)
    You know you can just strap a bunch of dummy entities to your ship and launch them with logic to bring your own debris?

    You tell me how many of those you have ever seen someone launch, and I'll tell you how many seconds they would last. ;-)

    Use their own ship parts as debris, big reason why Swarmboats are going to have some trouble IMO.
    You really want turrets, but swarms really really hate docked shit, soon as you lose it you lose all dps until your swarms kill it, and so on for every piece that falls off.

    Guess We'll just wait and see, in the meantime guess I could do a little updating see if Elucidator could make use of a little Aux power.
    Though since I'm not one of those top-tier players it still works exactly as before & requires no refit, so ready to go whenever :p
    My latest BaS ship is now Patch-stable unless they change some core mechanics in the mean time. Otherwise its just a really amped up "basic" ship now. There is no gimmicks this time

    Wait a minute, are you saying that swarmers that you launch will target your own turrets? Or is it just your own turrets after they've been blown off your ship? I've never noticed swarmers targeting my own turrets before, at least while they were on my ship anyway.

    I suppose a useful test for me will be to take my swarmer ship, and spawn in all the turret bases and barrel sections separately and completely whole. Then turn on the swarmer launchers and see how long they last. Outside of shield support, I give them roughly ten seconds.

    Swarms are indiscriminate. If someone knocks off a docked entity from your ship, the next volley of swarms will mostly impact that entity and not the enemy, just as much as they will occasionally target the Undocked, Non Overheating AMS turrets/other docked stuff until it overheats regardless of size or power. Swarms are especially countered by small, fast moving entities which they cannot catch up to being used as decoys

    hmm maybe tagging the main player names of each team that are running the show for their team would have gotten them to submit faster. XD
