Hi, I have some assorted questions that I am having trouble with finding good answers to.

    1. the new storage system. I can attach the cargo and storage and even factories without any issue. Everything that is supposed to be purple is purple, and see thru. The cargo boxes even do the cool thing where they change to become visible as they are filled up. The issue is when I look into my storage it still says 0/100. Factories, ship storage, station storage. It all says 100. I have reloaded the game, redone the connections, everything. Yet, when someone else looked in they all had the expected numbers. They were able to put in a ton of stuff and take it out with no issue or warnings of going over capacity. Yet if I go into the SAME container and put in a lesser amount of loot it still does the over capacity warning. Is this a bug, am I doing it wrong, or is it just some random thing the mac version doesn't do yet or what....

    2. killing planets. On the server I play it is encouraged to kill planets for lag, apparently I was told to "build one single beam of damage" to kill a planet without the plates flying away. I noticed there was a weapon called beam, but i was wondering how many modules you need and how long it takes. I have found some ship blueprints for planet killing ships or like really heavy damage ships but I'd rather start simple, with the least needed amount of blocks, and then design the ship around that.

    3. salvage turrets. I tried really hard to make a turret that would mine asteroids. Not only do I have to be in the turret to use it, but the loot goes into my inventory instead of the cargo. there is cargo in the ship, the turret, and they are linked with the dock system. I was kinda hoping I could put like 4 mining turrets on a ship, fly to an asteroid field and have the turrets eat them up on their own. can I put a button in my cockpit and link it with a mining turret? like... click button, turret turns on and fires? or do mining turrets have to be fired personally?

    4. stations that .. orbit I guess?. I love my little space station. its got a lovely view, asteroid belts and shops nearby. But I am always floating a little bit. I am always sliding slowly to the side. I go to use my teleporter, only to have slid off it by the time i set up my destination.

    5. is there some system for making hull that I am missing? I have 3 shops nearby and a factory lined up. But it seems like batches of 500 to 1000 hull vanish really fast.

    6. why are their separate factories? How do I figure out which one I need? is there like... a main factory control block? that like.. you connect it to each factory, and then go to the control block, and hit the recipe you want (or drop in a sample) and it sends the instructions to the relevant factory?

    7. why does glass cast shadows? it seems to do so even when I have shadows turned off...

    8. can you make a planet by hand? I've stared at planets and it feels like the angles the plates are at couldn't be recreated. I feel like the way the lag works building a fake planet under my station would be easier than actually building on a planet

    9. gravity units. how many do I need? I seem to have them in every room yet I end up floating whenever I exit a core, or a teleporter, or a turret, or a build block

    10. can you make a rail system that makes things rotate 360? like in scifi when there are bits slowly spinning. I can make a rail that is like a square and the turret bit turns near the corners, and I can make a turret that rotates IF I AM IN IT like it rotates as I look around with it. is there a way to make a turret that can turn all the way around without the harness method? (I so far have had to do one dock, thats like a barrel or base, and then the actual turret ontop of it. i thought maybe there would be a block that just makes whats on it spin when its turned on?)

    11. is there a certain blueprint thats just a pirate hunting ship? I looked for one and couldnt find it. or just like... like the amount of shields and weapons you'd need.

    1. sounds like youve got a bug or glitch going on. it doesnt do that to me.
    2. ive never heard of anyone that encouraged planet eating. thats what causes lag. i just wouldnt play on that server.
    3. salvage turrets dont work (yet?).
    4. again, i think you have a glitch or bug if youre just sliding around while standing still. are you in gravity when this is happening?
    5. if you need more hull, make more hull. or do what i do and dont use hull. i try to build ships with enough shields to handle being shot at.
    6. there are just 3 different factories. thats how it is. what i do is put a display block near each one with a list of the stuff i commonly make so i remember which factory to use.
    7. glass does odd things visually. i assume theyre still trying to figure out a good way to make it look right.
    8. you could theoretically make a planet by hand, but it would be odd to walk around as the gravity wouldnt act like it would on a planet. i guess your two options are either a 6 sided cube or the old starmade style planets which were like big oreos. control gravity with trigger area or put a bunch of grav modules all over the place.
    9. all a grav unit does is change your state of gravity on ships or stations. (they act weird on planets) if you exit a core you wont be in gravity. you have to look at a grav unit and press r, then youll align to the ship/station and fall whatever direction the arrows on the unit point. when you look at one and press r again youll exit the gravity
    10. making things continuously spin can be tricky. especially if you want them to go slower than the standard spin speed. you dont need a square of rail or a turret rail block, just a rail rotator with an activation module touching one of the sides AND linked to it via 'c'/'v'. control speed with a rail speed controller linked to the rail rotator and linked to a bunch of activation blocks.
    11. theres literally thousands of blueprints available online. it depends on the pirates on your server. if theyre vanilla im sure theres some medium sized battleships thatll do the job. of theyre crazy over powered like some servers then youll obviously need something beefier. or just build something, then go attack a pirate station and see how you fare.

    hope i helped!

    1. Try reinstalling the game

    2. Blowing up the planet before you mine it significantly reduces lag. The planet has 10 million hp and a high Regen it takes about 2000 weapons modals to keep up with the Regen alone. I use about 10000 weapons modals on my planet killers. To keep the plates from drifting too far you need to unload the sector right after you blow up the planet. Jump away or just log off the server.

    4. It is an know bug hopefully it will get fixed soon.

    5. Factory enhancers use lots of them connected to your factories.

    10. watch the tutorials by Bench on youtube
