Hey guys, I wanted to share with you a ship I've been working on for some time now when I first discovered Starmade. I had put on hold any further work on it due to the radical and frequent textures changes, but now that things seem to have settled a bit, I can go back to finishing her.

She's a cozy little thing, approximately 150x50x50m for just under 6000 mass, inspired by various sources (old republic assault and venator cruisers for example). Her interior is modelled, but I am planning to rework it for a slightly more efficient layout, as it is a real maze atm.

Here are a few pics. Right now, she is quite grey and dark, so one of the next steps will be to add some more color variety (I'll probably go for a mix of white and red). She used to be much brighter though. No interior pics yet, the new textures didn't turn out so good inside.

The bow observation room will probably go, asI'm not sure about it.

Also, the underbelly is sorely lacking any detailing, which is what I'm doing right now.

She is *not* MP ready and probably never will (unless Calbiri gets a go at min/maxing it :p): optimizing space for efficient shields and energy production isn't my main focus, and most of the mass in there is purely cosmetics.

What an incredible ship. The only thing is it looks great far away until you get close up ;)

You are definitely right Doomsider, and that\'s my main gripe with it. I often feel like I went over the board with the detailing at the cost of clarity. At first she used to be rather bland looking, and now I guess it\'s quite the opposite.

I\'m not too worried about it, let\'s be honest, removing clutter is much less hassle than adding it, it\'s just a question of finding the right balance. I\'ll devote a couple hours to it.

Very industrial-ish feeling to it. I love the detail!

Yeah I was having similar issues with trying to over-detail smaller classes of ships, and I\'ve found you just can\'t do it like you want, it only really becomes possible with much larger vessels.

However I must admit, I really do like yours.

PS: I also started with lots of windows on ships, but it just looks terrible from an aethetics stand point, so ended up removing them all, wish they would make one-way windows with seperate textures on the in/out-side. Could help with that. Or maybe I just havn\'t found a way to make them work in well with aesthetics.

Lots of details in the body. Why not place some cockpits or use plex doors to open up the outer hull even temporarily? You\'ll get the observation deck feel.

    Got a ship file?

Yeah do you have a ship file? Would love to give it a go because I have no artistic abilities :P

Sure, as I haven\'t been working on it for a few weeks, here\'s the link https://www.dropbox.com/s/5cnebjgjj31sc0y/Monalisa_export.sment

Don\'t hesitate to make any change you want (if any) and keep us updated.

Nice interiors. Semi-labrinthyn though. Perhaps you could color code things? At least color code decks and maybe give some indication how to go up and down from a corridor or two away? I know space is tight inside.

Then ship is great looking and good, you should definetly keep up the good work!

I had only 1 problem with this ship.

It took forever to find the ship core. :D

That...that\'s absolutely awesome. I\'m looking forward to building something that comes nowhere near it in stature and awesomeness, and edges toward 10/10 on the \"You suck at building things, Pfloyd\" scale.

    Good job on that beaut.
