    Star Trek Constitution: TMP 0.1848

This is my fourth rework of the Movie era Constitution class star ship from the Star Trek Universe. I've been working on it for weeks, (make that months) and it is a labor of love.

    Design Features:

    • Fully re-modeled with Starmade V0.183 blocks and systems
    • Similarly redesigned Shuttlecraft based on those from the movies
    • Phasers! (Damage Beam+AMC+Explosive effect+ red)
    • Photon Torps! (Missiles+AMC+blue)
    • Impulse Cruise: (PassivePush+logic clock)
    • High mass-efficiency power arrays
    • High mass-efficiency thrust using new .04 engine algorithms
    • Modeled Bridge, Engine room, Medical bay, Shuttle Bay, Crew Quarters, recreation areas.
    • Decks on all sections.
    • More detailed paint work
    • Deeply Recessed turrets provide agile defense while sheltering their cores behind the ships primary shields
    • Logical airlock systems on all sally ports
    • Airlocks contain Gravity controls
    • Logical jump tubes provide easy vertical movement between decks
    • Full 1:1 scale
    • Hand-built from blueprints

This thing is GREAT. Love the exterior, however the bridge part of the exterior is blue not red. Also, can you update the docking it seems whenever I load it up all of the turrets float off. Good ship. I like it.
Okay, I haven't been able to test anything, but I hope this is as good as previous versions. In other news, thanks for your reply to my earlier review, but the logic I referred to was NOT the impulse board. If you ever decide to do a TOS Connie update (and I hope you will sometime!), I am working on a lighting rig that will mimic the Bussard Collectors seen in TOS Star Trek (although recent large downloads and slow Library net have made working on it impossible for the past few weeks), and when I complete it you are welcome to use it on your ships if you wish.

I made this back in April and it seriously needs an update, but if you want a test-platform to experiment on, here is my TOS Constitution.

This might be your best work yet i love the elevators and turrets ecspecially

Thanks. Very glad you like it.
This latest update sounds awesome, but I can't figure out how to activate the impulse drive. Do you have to stand on the helm station? When I tried it nothing happened.

Go to engineering, start the logic clock on the fore-starboard wall. This will incidentally set the engine pulsing and the exterior marker lights to flashing. The impulse drive won't work without this clock running.

On the fore-port wall, you can activate the impulse drive for "cruise control" mode. the ship will travel while you explore.

Alternately, the drive can be activated by standing on the foot plate on the bridge.
This ship is amazing. I loved the original version, and this refit blows it out of the water! So many novel ideas and details to see, in my opinion this is hands down the best ship you can download in this size range.

Take it out and explore your galaxy!

Thanks! This ship could also be titled "Everything I have learned so far about StarMade". I'm glad you are enjoying it.
A very good looking rebuild! I have yet to check out how it functions but I'm sure I won't be let down! I am looking forward to you doing a TOS version (and maybe I might have some logic you can use for that...IF I work out the bugs first) All in all, I like what you've done with it thus far.

I see you also reviewed the impulse board: Yes, it works, and has been incorporated into this build. Try activating the clock on deck B, then activating the switch on the bridge (deck A)
Acceleration isn't great, but if you want to travel while you walk around the ship, this is the way to go.

Try not to fly through a star.
Well I just tried out the update and here's my verdict:

I like the ship's new acceleration, but I miss the overdrive (I like going faster than 50)
Also, I wish that the photon torpedo were guided (it's miserable trying to hit a moving enemy with fire and forget missiles).

Your concerns are answered in the newest version (0.1848)
I have tried it out for a few seconds and I already love it to bits. I like how you made the turrets, for that matter I like how you made all the systems on the ship. You even filled in the stardrive hull.

The only negative thing I can say is that I wish the impulse cruise was faster, but that's an insignificant point.

P.S. Is it just me or does the ship seem slightly smaller than past versions?

I'm glad you love it. :) And nope, it's actually 1m taller. to make the lifts work out I had to raise the bridge module by 1 block.
Overall great ship, well done. I liked that it uses damage beams instead of Antimatter Cannons, it makes the whole thing feel slightly more Treky.
All in all very good. However, there are a few difficulties I have with it.

First off, there are too many turrets, and it lags my game to scrap. I suggest only adding in the ones that are of absolute neccesity. This should reduce lag. Also, in my opinion, the doors should automatically open when you walk through them. This is achieveable very easily, and will not cause much lag. Finally, in the neck section, you have the player go up 1 block to the next jump tube, but when in gravity the wedges you have as a decoration block the way up, and I recommend you fix that. However, in spite of this, it's a very good ship.

(one small side note: there is a large table just off sickbay. I have no idea what it is for, and I am hoping you could explain. If it's a conference room, try opening it to the corridor.)

    Thanks!
too many turrets: Yeah probably. Sorry about the lag.
Automatic doors. Next version. as per the release notes this is a WIP.
Tube wedges: WIP: that whole area is being remodeled.
The table off the med bay is a surgical bed.
